Your P.O.V
Shadow walked up to Scarlet and picked her up. "Me and mommy were just talking" Shadow told her. "Usually just talking doesn't include yelling" she said. Shadow chuckled. It almost made me smile. "You're too smart" he said. He looked at me and walked out with her. Just talking... I wish. I looked back at the mirror. My image started to slowly distort. I sat there, instead of fear overcoming me, curiosity filled me. It distorted so much it didn't look like me anymore. It took a different shape. "What do you want from me..." I said. The glass shattered and I flinched. I got up quickily and went to bed. I laid there with my eyes shut tightly. Leave me alone!! I tossed and turned all night. I never heard Shadow come back in the room. I felt like something was there. I wrapped myself in the covers. I couldn't bear to think anymore. These thoughts were slowly killing me. I fell asleep finally.
I opened my eyes to see the sunlight creeping in from the window. The door opened more and Shadow was in the doorway. He turned his head and looked at the mirror. "What happened?" He asked. "The mirror just- I broke the mirror" I told him. I couldn't tell him what actually happened. "Oh?" He said. He went over and cleaned the mess. He didn't even ask me why I broke it. He left the room. I got up and changed. I missed my appointment yesterday. I walked into the living room. I saw Scarlet sitting down at the table eating breakfast. "Hi mom!" She said excitedly. "Hello" I tried to put a smile on my face. "I'm having breakfast!" She shouted. "Would you like some?" Shadow asked me without even looking at me. He continued to prepare the pancakes. "No thank you" I said.
I went and got my jacket and put it on. "Where are you going mom?" Scarlet asked. "I'm going to see my phy- special doctor" I said. "Ooh. Okay, see ya later mommy" she said as she poured more syrup on her pancakes. Shadow walked over and tipped the bottle up. "Don't drown your pancakes in syrup, that's pure sugar" he told her. I closed the door. I got in my car and drove to Thalia's office. My psychiatrist. I walked in to see her sitting there with her pad and pencil. "Hello (y/n)" she said. "Sorry I didn't come yesterday" I apologized. "That's quite alright. I told you you don't have to come to these meetings if you didn't feel like it. As a psychiatrist, our whole job is to make sure you're comfortable" she told me. I told her about what happened last night. She talked with me for about thirty minutes.
Everything that's been happening, why is it happening? I walked to my car again. This time I was leaving and going home. Home. The place I only thought as Shadow's house was now known to me as home. I drove home and walked inside. I smelled something. It smelled like smoke. It smelled like something was burning. Burning!?
