Chapter 7

*5 days since mom was taken*

Gabby's POV

I honestly don't even know what to do anymore. We literally just moved to this state a few months ago and everything is starting all over again. My mom was taken. I never knew that it would get this bad, but I guess the same person must've followed us from Texas and is doing this to us again. I just want my mom back already.

I'm starting to lose hope. Its been 5 days, that doesn't seem like much, but it feels like a lifetime since I've seen my mom. I miss her so fricken much. I hope she's okay.

Grayson's POV

We told gabby why I was all beat up and she started crying because I sortve risked my life for her and her mom, but I guess it was worth it. At least now I know what he looks like, but that's all I know so that wont help much.

When I told gabby, she hugged me so tight and didn't let go for like a solid 5 minutes. Not gonna lie, I kinda enjoyed it?? I think I'm catching feelings for her but I'm not sure yet. I'm just a little confused.

Anyways, the dude texted me again and wanted to meet up but I told E and he told gabby. The guy threatened me if I didn't show up, so we are all secretly going together. I told them to leave their phones at the house and ill take mine just in case he's tracking their phones as well.

2 hours later***

We just pulled up to the same alley that I was beat up in by him. I got out the jeep and left gabby and E in the car. They are going to come out in 5 minutes.

I walk inside the alley and I see him. He's got dark clothes on with black leather combat boots while I've got a muscle t shirt with Nike shorts on and vans. Well, he came a little overdressed.

I stopped and asked "what do you want?" He responds "more like, what do you want?" Wtf was that supposed to mean? "But you asked me to come meet you, so what do you want?" I asked a little more pissed off this time. "I just wanted to know if you all gave up on finding Gabby's mom. It seems as if you have stopped looking for her." Gabby is kindve giving up, but I'm not and neither is ethan. "We aren't giving up. Ever. Until we find her alive and well. Until we get your dumbass put in jail" i spit back.

He walked forward and stepped closer to me, right in my face. As he was about to say something, ethan and gabby come from around the corner and ethan pushed him against the wall. I mentally high fived my brother until he was punched square in the jaw and kicked in the stomach, just like I was.

I ran to the guy and was about to throw a punch but he stepped back then kicked my leg causing me to fall. I tried to regain my balance but I was punched in the face, again. Hard. I fell to the ground and just laid there.

He turned around and headed for gabby. I tried to get up but I was just so dizzy and ethan was whimpering while holding his ribs.

He got to gabby then pinned her against the wall. Then he did something unexpected. He took out a knife and held it to her neck. He looked at us and smirked while gabby was too shocked to do anything. She's so weak so she couldn't stand a chance against that big guy.

He started to press the knife harder. "STOP. PLEASE. STOP WE'LL LEAVE RIGHT NOW" I yelled as I crawled toward them.

"I'm letting you go just this once. But you better keep ur mouth shut. You're not tough shit. If I didn't have her mother, I would be taking gabby right now. But I guess ill spare her just this once. Now get out of here!" He yelled back. But he was the one who wanted to meet up?? I chose to keep my mouth shut and I ran to gabby.

She was still shocked a bit so I had to help her walk, while I made sure I was walking straight too. I was still a little dizzy but not too bad. I could still drive.

We walked over to E and I sat down next to him. He looks up at me and says "I'm good I'm good. Just help me stand up" I did as told and helped him up. He grunted a few times but he's okay. We all start walking to the car but I turned around and gabby was still in the same spot.

She's still in shock. I don't blame her. She had a knife to her throat. I walk back to her and carry her bridal style. I felt her lean her head on my chest. She then sniffled and I knew that she was crying. I feel so bad for her.

30 minutes later***

We made it back to the house and we all headed in. I carried gabby back in the house and E was walking in behind us. Gabby and I made it into the house but then stopped when we heard the door slam.

We both turned around and Ethan was gone...
