Safe in My Arms

Chapter 2

*Gabby's POV*

"Stop! Stop! Please don't hurt me! Please i'll do anything!" But I couldn't. There wasn't anything that I could do to save myself. This is it, I thought. My life is ending. The man approaches me with the gun and points it to my head. He starts to count. "3, 2, 1."
*BEEP*BEEP*BEEP*BEEP*

I shoot up in bed, sweating and panting. "It was just a dream" I whisper to myself. I turn off the alarm clock and wake up my mom. We decided to get up pretty early today so we can go explore and tour around NJ. Its 8 o'clock and the sun is shining bright through the windows.

After I wake up my mom, I go into the bathroom and start getting ready. I take a quick shower, blow dry my hair, straighten it, brush my teeth, and do my makeup. I walk out of the bathroom so my mom can go in there to get ready. I sit patiently on the bed as I wait for her.

*Hours later*

Its now lunch time and I'm so hungry. My mom and I found a cute lil restaurant near the hotel called "Cheeseburger in Paradise." After we ate, we go back out into the city and shop for a little while. We started to get a little tired, so we decided to head back to the hotel. We waited on the sidewalk for a taxi to come.

We finally got a taxi and as I'm getting in the car, I see the same guy that was sitting next to my mom on the plane. He was staring at my mom and I. I got a little uncomfortable so I quickly got in the car and the taxi driver drove off. I watched out the window as we passed the guy, who was still staring at me. Why was he looking at me? And why do I keep seeing him everywhere? Was he following us? No. He cant be. He probably is just visiting, or he lives here. Must just be a coincidence, I thought. I lean my back on the seat and close my eyes.

I'm shaken awake by mom. I slowly get out the car and walk into the hotel with her by my side. We get into the elevator and head towards our room. We put all of our stuff down and i got into the bed and laid there for a little while. "I wish there was a computer in here so I can look at houses for us to live in" my mom says. "Just use your phone" i reply. "I could, but I'd rather have a computer because its bigger" she says back. I thought for a minute. "Maybe they have some down in the lobby for people who come here on a business trip?" I suggested. "Lets go see."

We head down to the lobby and reach the front desks. "Do you have any computers here that we can use?" My mom asks the lady at the desk. She responds, "yes, actually we do. We have a work room for people who come here for business reasons. Down that hall, second door on the left!" "Thank you very much!" My mother adds.

We head down the hall and pass the first door, then reach the second one. "Here it is!" I exclaimed as I see a sign on the door, *work room* We enter the room and go to a computer. My mom starts looking through houses, more houses, and so many houses.

We were down here for 2 hours looking for houses when finally my mom gets excited. "You found something?" I ask her. "I think so! I really like it and the price isn't too bad. I think we should go check it out tomorrow. Ill give them a call right now!" She looked so excited and I haven't seen her that excited lately. It made me happy. I smiled as the walked towards the back of the room to call the agent. I walked towards the computer and started clicking on the pictures. "Wow" I whispered. This house is so pretty. Its not big, but its not too small. It was the perfect size. I looked at the bottom left of the house description and the city it was in is called "Long Valley" I said. I googled Long Valley, and it didn't appear to be too far away. Just an hour or so from here.

My mom and I start heading back to the room when she gets off the phone. "So what did they say" I ask her. "We can go around 10. Is that okay?" She asks. "Yes, i cant wait!" I was honestly so excited. I couldn't wait to get out of this hotel and move into an actual house. Like come on, that's exciting!

When we get in the room I go in the bathroom, take off my makeup and all that jazz than I hop in the shower. 2 showers in one day wont hurt right? At least I'll be extra clean. I get out and get ready for bed.

I look up at the ceiling and start my late night thinking. Will I have any neighbors? Is it in a good neighborhood? Will I feel safe again? All these thoughts were going through my mind and I couldn't control them. I get up and get a glass of water. I sit at the table and try to relax my mind.

When I'm done with the water, I go pee because I didn't feel like waking up in the middle of the night about to pee on myself. I get back in bed and close my eyes. Next thing I know, I'm falling asleep.
