Rocawear Evolution Photo Shoot. Private Location.
7:49 pm
"Okay clear on set!"
I quickly finished rolling the left sleeve up around his wrist then stepped back to make sure everything was in its place. Giving him the OK I turned around and walked away from the designated set area. Standing behind the director's chair I admired my work as the pictures flashed across the computer screen while the photographer snapped away. In the past few weeks I had to constantly remind myself that my life was not a dream. I couldn't believe just how many amazing projects I was given the chance to work on and today was no different.
I was working with Trey Songz for his new Rocawear Evolution ads that would be coming out the following month. The commercial was shot earlier in the day and we were currently in the process of shooting the ad photos. When I left Astoria this morning I could barely contain my excitement. Unfortunately, that only lasted all but two seconds. You never really know the work that goes into something until you're doing it and needless to say I never really knew how boring commercials were to shoot until today. We spent five and a half hours shooting a two minute commercial.
The electricity we wasted was beyond my understanding.
I still couldn't believe I was working with thee Trey Songz. When we were in Barbados filming Cole's video he mentioned that he had some stuff coming up in New York and needed a temporary stylist. Before I knew it J introduced us and he was asking me to style him for the Rocawear ad. I also styled him for a television appearance that he did yesterday morning at FOX, in addition to styling Jermaine for a 106 & Park appearance he had yesterday as well.
I had been up since 8am, running on less than five hours of sleep and although I was more than grateful for the experience, I was happy that this was the last look of the day. Trey was having a party tonight to celebrate his announcement of his new album "Chapter V" but after the day I had I just wanted to crawl in my bed and relax.
I felt my phone vibrate so I pulled it out to read the text.
Jermaine: Babygirl!
I chuckled at his tendency to be country even in a text message.
Me: I'll call you later, I'm working.
I started to put my phone back into my pocket but I had a feeling that he was going to text back. And on cue, my phone vibrated again.
Jermaine: Oh shit, my bad. I just wanted to let you know about Trey's party tonight. You probably already know about it but if you don't it's some celebratin type shit. You should come out.
Jermaine: You know since you left me and got a new boss and shit.
I new he was going to slide some slick shit in there. The day Jermaine found out that I said yes to working for Trey he had been playing around and calling me everything from a traitor to saying that I was going to run away with Trey and never come back. Yet he was the one who suggested I do this. But as I quickly learned over the past two weeks, he knew how to be everything but serious; except when it came to music.
Me : *side eye emoji*
Me: I did not leave you. *laugh emoji* You're the only boss I have so stop it. And yes, I know about the party but I probably won't be going. I can barely keep my eyes open as is.
Jermaine: *side eye emoji*
Jermaine: That's what you say now, tomorrow you'll be talking about you going on tour with Beyonce. I know how you females operate. Quick to be on to the next one.
