When I see the door wide open, my intrigue spikes. I enter cautiously, looking from left to right before closing the door behind me. The room looks just like the rest of the mind palace, but darker.

The room has a purple tint to it and is littered with cobwebs. A clock on the back wall swirls quickly, as if time itself is moving too fast to comprehend.

Everything is new and wonderful. I want to know so much more. But... new isn't always good. The longer I stand there, the faster my thoughts become. My eyes dart around the room until resting on the exit.
I run to the door, but it's locked.

Another near sleepless night, another weird dream. But this time, I have a bit of a lead. Logan reacted when I mentioned corruption, which means the others might as well. I decide to start with Patton, the least obnoxious of the two.

I approach his room, glaring at all of the smiley face stickers plastered across the door. I knock, quietly at first. When there is no reply, I knock louder.

A sleepy Patton opens the door. He lacks his glasses and is wearing a cat onesie. He yawns, "What's the matter, kiddo? It's late..."

"It's like 8 in the morning, Dad," I correct him and smile a bit.

"Too earlyyyyy," he whines.

"This is important. I really need to talk to you," I press. "And please change. I can't take you seriously."

He does a little spin and his clothes magically changes back to his regular style. He wipes the sleep from his eyes before replacing his glasses. "Done."

"Has anyone ever been corrupted?"

Patton tenses up, just like Logan. "Well isn't that a question for Logan?"

"I tried that," I tell him. "The nerd won't tell me either."

Patton sighs and looks up and down the hall before pulling me into his room. I yelp in surprise and he closes the door.

"I just needed to make sure Roman was out of earshot. He can be a little sensitive."

"What-"

He places a finger to my lips to quiet me. Morality is never this secretive and serious. "No one has tried to go in your room. We all know how dangerous it is for us. Especially after what happened to-"

A light above Morality's door lights up. "Sorry kiddo, maybe another time," he apologizes and sinks down.

Thanks, Thomas. Always at the worst time you have some dilemma.

A/N Will probably rewrite due to my lack of skill with puns
