"Mommy?" 5 year old Lucy whispered in fear. Her mother Layla Heartfilia stood back facing her daughter as if she were a fly that would go away any second. This pained Layla. The fact she couldn't move nor say a thing yet her eyes stay open. Her back stay straight. Her feet stay standing. Her hands stay neatly folded behind her back.
Nothing would make Layla happier than to cradle her daughter in her arms. To always be there for her daughter through all of the tough times. A pain struck her chest and her heart ached. Her knees collapsed as she fell to the ground. It was like her body was doing all of this on its own. Mrs. Heartfilia had no control over her aching body. "MOMMY!" Lucy's screams grew faint to Layla as her eyes slowly close. That was the end. After that very moment it was like Lucy was transformed into a punching bag. All anyone did was blame her for her mother's death. She was like an emotional punching bag. Their words were sharper than knives. Their moods always seemed to change as if Lucy Heartfilia was a germ, a virus. This continued for countless years until the knives became dull. The moods became unnoticeable. And Lucy Heartfilia Became Bulletproof.
