Lucy's P.O.V: My alarm clock beeped letting me know I should probably get up. When I had first gotten the alarm clock I would spring out of bed, as if something were to bite my toe at that very moment. Now I just kinda lay in bed awaiting my alarm clock. Counting down the seconds. It didn't surprise me anymore. Nothing did.  I crawled out of bed still tired. I touched my wrist. It still burned from yesterday and had a tender  scar circling around it. I crawled towards my closet weakened and starved. I was quite joyed because I would finally be fed today. I looked in the mirror. I frowned at the image. My stomach caved in, my arms stick thin, my legs slimmed down. "Good morning princess!" I heard a familiar voice with her head in my doorway. It was Virgo. Virgo was the only maiden who didn't blame me for my mother's death. Who always snuck me bread from the days I wasn't allowed to eat. Her cheeks were rosy. Her hair was pink, her skin pale, her eyes, blue. Whenever I was around her mood would change. She'd be happier. All the other maids were disgusted with me. Especially Aquarius. "Good morning Virgo." I yawned as I attempted to stand. "Did Lucy take a punishment again?" Virgo was concerned. "You could say that." I mumbled unaware the Virgo heard. "Ya know, it hurts me to see you hurt." Virgo sadly added. "What can you do about it?" I sighed. "A dance!" She said as she started moving her body as if she were mechanical. A slight smile spread across my face "I don't even wanna ask." I started to laugh as Virgo ignored my comment. "I told you I could help. You're not sad anymore!" I felt my face. Dimples! I felt invincible, like someone had put me up on a pedestal and praised me. Virgo made feel wanted, by choice and not need. "Oh i'm so sorry princess!" Virgo glanced at my clock to see the time. 7:45 AM. "I've made you late!" Virgo panicked. "Don't sweat it Virgo. It's worth it from the way you made me feel!" I smiled back at her as she left my room. I got dressed in a ruffled pink top with white skinny jeans, and I styled my hair into 2 french braids. I nervously walked downstairs, anxious about my next punishment. I walked into the main kitchen relieved to see no Jude. "Jude had to leave on an important business trip. Expect him back by late next week." Virgo smiled. I saw 3 pancakes on the table with whipped cream and strawberries. I grinned as I sat down to eat my long awaited meal. The meal had to be the best meal out of them all. Virgo came over to me after I was finished and handed me 40,00 jewel. "I thought you may need lunch money princess. You're starved to the bone." Virgo frowned at my still caved in stomach. Just as I was about to hug Virgo somebody snatched my lunch money from my hands. I looked up to see Aquarius growling at Virgo. "Princess go and head to school, i'll take care of this myself." Virgo gestured me to leave. I left even though I really didn't wan't to. I felt no tears, but resistance. "I'll live." I mumbled I continued my walk to school. I could see plenty of staring faces from the corner of my eye . If I were to actually look I bet i'd see more. As I walked into the school building I felt a soft, delicate hand touch my shoulder. I knew who it was. Without even looking back I took Levy into a hug. She hugged back and frowned. "Are you ok Lu?" Levy asked concerned. I pulled her into an empty hallway and started to talk. "Virgo tried to give me lunch money today but then Aquarius came in. I don't know what happened next, but I hope Virgo is ok." I continued to have a sad face as Levy pulled me into another hug. "I'm so sorry Lu." Levy soothed. Levy was great at calming me down. I don't know how, but she's the type of person that people like me admire in that way. The bell rang "You better get to homeroom Lu. I hope everything goes ok." Levy smiled as she started off to her homeroom. I started walking in the opposite direction of Levy. When I finally got to my homeroom, I saw a huge mob surrounding the door. Confused I pushed through the mob to find a new kid with salmon hair beating up one of my best friends Gray Fullbuster. "Next time don't mess with me, or we'll take it to churches after school." The new kid smirked. Nose bleeding, Gray stood and walked through the mob. I could tell he was upset. I stood there and gave the new kid the "you screwed up," look. And went after Gray. "Gray!" I put my hand on his shoulder. He stood still. "I'm an idiot." He mumbled. I slapped Gray across the face lightly. "I won't tolerate my friends putting themselves down." I sighed. "Now come on, quit being sad. The day's too young to get upset!" I cheered. Gray turned back at me, our faces 4 inches apart. "You're right." He sighed. "I guess if I get upset now I've got a lot of unnecessary sadness." "After all, i'm getting advice from the only girl I know that is bulletproof!" His words made me smile. "Why don't we get to class." I soothed as me and Gray turned to homeroom. "I'd like that." "Awww!" All the students surrounding homeroom gushed. "SHUT IT!" Me and Gray said at the same time. Then we chuckled. Everyone laughed at our synchronized actions, well, except for the new kid. He frowned. And disappeared into homeroom first thing. The Boy With Salmon Hair gave me unlimited suspicion.
