I watch him make his way down the hall with the air of arrogance and I roll my eyes and turn around to make my way to my next class. That boy sure knows how to drive me insane.

I walk into my class which just so happens to be English 101, honors.

Oh shit! Wait! Let me introduce myself to you.

My name is Aira Castillo. I'm a 23 year old college student and ready to get the hell out of this damn place of, this place being, Los Angeles, California. My major is in Architecture. Yes a girl who likes to build, so what?

But for now...

As I was saying before, that boy drives me to insanity.

'That boy' being Lucas Williams, the only guy that I have ever had feelings for but he would never know. He's so arrogant and such a bad ass that sometimes he scares even me and I know I'm not good enough for him with us both being from the different sides of the tracks.

Lucas being all name brand and me being a measly hand me down here and there.

I have two friends and their names are Henry and Grace Black. Henry is gay and it is his first year here also being four years younger than me and Grace. Henry being Gracie's younger brother.

He is majoring in Medical while Grace is majoring in Law.

I walk into class and sit in my seat; all the way at the back of the class. I pull out my sketchpad and start to doodle. I start to hear the heavy footfalls of the students come into the class and pull back to look at my handy work.

My eyes widen.

I'd drawn a picture of Lucas Williams. Oh god!

Before I had the chance to rip the page from the sketchbook, it's snatched from my hands. I gasp in fright.

Lucas.

"Hiya babe" he asks, in that deep husky accented voice of his.

My mouth drops. "Give me back my book"

He shakes his head. "No"

I reach up for it but he raises it out of my reach. Me being a leggy 5'8 ½ and him being a fucking giant at about 6'7.

"LUCAS!" I yell. "GIVE THAT BACK!" I jump up.

"Is this me?!" he looks at me and with shock all over his face.

My eyes widen. "No!" I snatch my book from his hands. I rip the page from my book and before I can crumple it into a ball he takes my hands and stops me.

"Aira..." He says. "That's really good"

Still in shock I look the picture over slowly. I didn't miss a detail, right down the tattoos around his neck and arms to the piercings in his face. I look at him and he just so happens to be staring down at me. This would totally be a moment if Melanie Josephs didn't come over.

Without hesitating, I hand it to him. "Keep it" I tell him.

"Aira" he says again.

I shake my head and force a smile. I wave my hand at him.

"Keep it Lucas" I walk away but not before hearing Melanie say,

"Ewww, what were you doing talking to that black bitch"

I hear Lucas snap at the girl but that wasn't enough. I was tired of her making comments about me thinking I wasn't going to do anything about it because her dad practically owned everything.

I snap my head in her direction. "What did you just say?"

She rolls her eyes and looks at me. "You heard me, Harriet Tubman." She giggles at her own joke.
