Jack rubs his face, as if trying to clear the dream from his brain. Lindsey is looking at him expectantly.
"Well?" she asks. "Was the dream the same as before?"
He turns his body so his feet are on the floor and he's sitting on the couch normally.
"Kind of. Some of it was the same, but some of it was new. And everything that had actually happened was gone."
She nods.
"That's how Sebastian's are," she says. "After something happens, he stops dreaming about it."
"What do you think my dream means? Especially the screaming part?"Jack asks.
"I don't know," she says. "Maybe we should take a look at Sebastian's dreams, see if they're connected in someway."
"No," Sebastian says loudly, causing everyone to look at him.
"I haven't really been dreaming of anything."
Lindsey starts to say something but Luke interrupts her.
"Can we start now?"
"Start what?" Jack asks.
"Training," Lindsey tells him. "That is, if you're comfortable with it. I promise not to make your ears bleed again."
Jack rolls his eyes as everyone makes their way into the other room.
"Sebastian, I want you to go in there with him this time," says Lindsey.
"Why?" Sebastian asks.
"Just do it. Jack, take your earplugs out. And both of you put your phones on the table."
"Why?" Sebastian asks again, causing her to glare at him.
He puts his phone on the table and Jack takes his earplugs out, wincing as everything gets slightly louder. He places his phone on the table and follows Sebastian into the soundproof room. Lindsey follows behind them, shutting and locking the door.
"Um, why are you locking the door?" Jack asks.
"So you can't leave like you did yesterday." she says over the speaker.
"What am I supposed to be doing?" Sebastian asks, sounding bored.
"Say something to me," Lindsey instructs.
"This is stupid," he says in her mind.
"Good," she says. "Now-"
"Wait, what?" Jack asks. "What did he do?"
"He can put thoughts into other people's minds," Lindsey says. "You didn't know?"
Jack looks over at Sebastian, who is staring at the ground. For the first time, Jack hadn't noticed before, but every time he had heard the voice in his head, Sebastian had been there. It makes sense now, the voice not wanting him to tell Lindsey about the dream because of the things Sebastian had said in it.
"What's wrong?" Lindsey asks.
"Nothing," Jack says, looking up. "Let's go. Do something."
A loud siren blares through the speakers, causing Jack to wince. His head throbbed and his ears popped. He wished she would turn it down at least. It would be bearable if it was just a little quieter, less high pitched.
Suddenly, the noise becomes a dull, low wailing noise. Jack looks around.
"Thank God." he mutters.
