Alice POV
Hi, my name is Alice and I am 17. I have what you would call a 'perfect life '. I am quite popular, I have many friends and I'm the school's sweetheart. I live with my parents in the small city named San Marcos in Texas.

Now let's start from the beginning of the worst day of my life.

"Come on honey, it's time to wake up". And this is my mother's angelic scream telling me to wake up and get ready for the prison that is called school.

" Yeah mum, I'm up".

After taking a quick shower and brushing my teeth I go downstairs to have breakfast. I have the same routine everyday. I wake up to my mother's scream after which I have a shower and brush my teeth, then I have breakfast and get ready for school dressing casual with minimal makeup. Then I go to school in my car and head straight to my locker. On the way there I meet up with my best friends and receive smiles and greetings from everyone at school. Then I go to classes until it's time for lunch where me and my friends sit at the popular table situated right in the middle of our lunchroom. It's the same old routine I follow every single day.

After a boring day at school I get in my car and drive home after I bid my goodbyes to everyone. Today I kept having this odd feeling that something is wrong.

I arrive in front of my house after parking my car and ring the doorbell a few times but no one answers. I entered the house and I was greeted by an unfamiliar quietness. I brush off all the negative thoughts thinking that maybe my mother had to stay late at work and forgot to tell me.

I change into some comfortable clothes and take off my makeup. I call my mother...no response. I call my father...no response.

Then I hear the doorbell ring and thinking it was my mother, I sprint to the front door and open it without checking.

" Omg mom you scared me, why didn't you te-" I stopped after noticing that instead of seeing mother standing in the doorframe with an apologetic smile,there sit 2 police officers looking very sad.

"Is there something wrong officers?", I asked not knowing why they were here.

"Are you Alice Montergeau?" One of the police officers finally speaks.

"Yes is there something wrong?".

" It's about your parents..."
