All I need is you

2- a new beginning

Alice POV
It's been 2 months since the day I found out that my parents have both died in a car crash. I am still a minor so now I live with my aunt Mary and cousin Jake. He is the same age as me so from now on I'll go to my new school with him. Jake and I are very close so it would be nice to have a friend there. After all the sleepless nights and sessions of crying nonstop I promised myself that I would not love anyone. I was so cheerful and happy all the time. Now I am just a broken girl that wants nothing more but to be left alone.

"Alice sweetie, please wake up! It's your first day at school". Now instead of hearing my mother's scream first thing in the morning I hear my aunt's soft voice telling me to wake up. Since I came here, Mary and Jake have tried to cheer me up but after some time they stopped, seeing no result, they decided to let me deal with it myself.

I get up from bed and without saying anything to my aunt I walk in my bathroom locking the door behind me. Yeah, I now I'm rude to her, after all she lost her sister, but I just don't feel like talking to anyone.

As I stay in front of the big mirror in front of myself, I see the huge bags under my eyes and my pale face. I used to be so bright on the inside and outside. Now all I see is a broken girl trying to cope with her situation as best as she can. So I take a quick shower and brush my teeth. I used to only apply a thin layer of lipgloss and some mascara,but now I decided to put on a matte liquid lipstick to cover the lifeless color from my lips, put some concealer to cover my bags and apply some mascara to open up my eyes more. After I was finished I took a look in the mirror and saw my old self again. All I had to do was smile and I would look just like a normal high schooler. I let my slightly wavy light brown hair down and change into some skinny jeans, a crop top and a pear of sandals since here was very hot.

"Morning!", I say feeling a bit more happy than before as I sprint down the stairs. Their house is bigger then mine. If you didn't know the place you would probably get lost . Luckily I've been here before  so I know this house well. I take my time to admire the beautiful modern decor of their kitchen. As I  look around I notice aunt Mary smile at me widely."Morning sweetie! I'm so glad you are feeling better. Come come you need to eat breakfast,".

"Thanks but I'm not hungry".

"Nonsense. You haven't eaten much since you came here. Please Alice, eat something"

I tried to tell her again that I really wasn't hungry but I decided it was best to drop the subject. She was right, I haven't eaten much since I came here and it isn't healthy.

After I finished breakfast, Jake came running down the stairs asking me if I got everything.

"Yes Jakey. Why are you running?", I ask as I chuckle slightly.

"We are going to be late for your first day so I suggest you move that ass of yours if you don't want to get in trouble on your first day",he says all in one breath.

"Ok ok, let's go"

After we bid our goodbyes to auntie Mary I enter the passenger seat in Jakes car. As he enters the driver's seat he sends me a small smile.

"Well you seem to be in a good mood today",Jakes says as he starts the engine.

"I said I wouldn't cry anymore. I'm sure mom and dad wouldn't have wanted  me to live my life depressed", I say as I remember their features. My mom was a ginger: red hair, freckles, fair skin and ocean blue eyes. My father had brown hair, amazing green eyes and he was quite tanned. I look more like my father, with brown hair and green eyes but I have some freckles just like my mother. I miss them so much.

"Aly,are you okay?", Jake's concerned voice wakes me out of my thoughts. "Do you want me to stop the car?"

"No Jakey,why?". Only then do I realize that the memory of my parents has made me shed some tears. I quickly wipe them away. "I'm good, just thinking about my parents"

Jake nods and starts concentrating on the road again.

Guys, I want to apologize for the first chapter. I know it was short but as you can see this one is longer. As I said in the first chapter, English is not my first language so sorry if there are any mistakes. I'll post one episode every day.Hope you enjoy this story so far! Love you all<3
