21 : A Piece of Memories

Flashbacks

Shin POV

        I flew down to earth whenever I feel like it. It’s not that I don’t like staying in heaven. It’s so beautiful in there, but I like to be down here too. I like to be alone and enjoy what God has created. The world for human being called home. I usually take my place on a big tree while staring as far as I can. There’s always one tree I always sit on whenever I flew down to earth. It’s near to the cliff; human rarely passing by that place since it’s in a forest. 

        “It feels good….” I stretched my arms and my big wings. I leaned on the tree while staring at the sky. Then, I closed my eyes. Before I got my rest properly, I heard a sound. - A small sound that I don’t ever hear it before. It gets a little louder before I glanced over to see where that sound coming from. 

        There’s a human kid; wandering alone passing the tree near to my usual place. The sound comes from that human kid. I really certain about it….

        “Mama…. Papa…” 

        I tilted my head and continue watching that kid in awe. - A human; a human kid. I’ve never seen one in this close. At that size, though…. I'm not allowed to be close to human. My works as an angel don’t involve with any of them. So, I never know about them except a few little things that I’ve heard and learned. They don’t have wings and they have feelings. I wonder what kind of feelings they have….

        “Help me!” That kid shouted.

        I started to chuckle. The voice that comes out from a kid sounds so small…

        I came down from the tree and flew closer to the kid. It’s a girl. At least, I can know the difference…. 

        “Are you lost, little one?” I asked her. When she heard my voice, she turned around to look at me. - Cute. A human kid is cute…. 

        “Who are you? What is that on your back?” She asked me back while pointing on my wings. I forgot to hide my wings when I came to her. I suppose to hide it from the humans. Trouble…  

        “Are you a fairy godmother?!” She excitedly blinked her eyes while staring at me.

        I put my hand on my ears. God, her shouts is hurting my ear. How come that voice came out from a little kid? And what is the fairy godmother anyway? 

        “But you are a man. And you don’t wear a shirt.” She pointed again at me; this time, on my body. I bend down to look at her. She's starting to wipe her eyes for a couple times. 

        “Are you lost? Are your eyes hurts? Your eyes seem watery…” 

        “That’s because I’m crying.” 

        “What is that?” I asked her. Crying? Is that the one who hurts this human kid? 

        “I’m crying because I’m sad. I’m… lost.” 

        I don’t get any words that she said. But, I know she said that she’s lost. Do human eyes always poured out water when they lost? Interesting…

        “Do you know where you came from?” 

        She shook her head. “My father and my mother moved to this new house. It’s a big but ugly house. I can’t find it anywhere.” 

        “How did you end up in this forest?” 

        “I've followed a bug! A ladybug!”
