Ara and I walk through the front door and take off our shoes. I follow her upstairs so we could see him. She runs up all of the stairs an waits for me at the top. "Come on slow poke! I want to see if Daddy can play," Ara says. I nod, smiling. Why does she have so much hope in him? I doubt she even knows how bad of a father he really is...

I stop Ara at his door and say, "Aralyn. Don't be sad if he can't play ok?" She nods and says, "Don't give up on Daddy, Kate. He's a good person." She looks up at me with a look in her eyes... Pity? But she smiles like nothing's wrong... I forget that she's strong sometimes. "We'll see..." I say to myself. Before she could say anything, I open the door.

"Sir," I say. A tall blonde stands by his side watching him do his work. Riza. She's probably the only person in the military that I like. Well, out of the people I've met. "How many times do I have to say that you can call me Dad, Kate?" Roy says. I'm not calling him Dad... "I'm sorry sir. Ara wanted to know if you were a Cornel yet," I say.

He sighs. But... To my surprise, he smiles. "Yes, Ara. I am a Cornel. Thank you for asking," he gets up from his desk and goes to Ara. He bends down so he is the same height as her. Ara smiles a huge smile and asks, "Daddy, can you play with us? Please, you haven't played with us for as while."

He looked to Riza. "You can't have Riza make all of your decisions you know?" I raise my voice. I look at Riza, "No offense." She put her hands up as if saying 'Don't worry, I'm not offended.' "Kate, it's ok. Daddy has a lot of work. Sometimes he needs help, right Daddy?" Ara says. Cornel nods and answers, "I promise that I'll play with you tomorrow. Daddy has a lot of work to do right now, okay? I'm sorry Ara."

"Do you know how many promises that you've broken? How many times you said that you would play with her? How many times you said that you would actually be a father?" by now I was yelling at him.

"I know that I-" Mustang started but I interrupted him, "No you don't! You don't know what it feels like to have your mother taken away and then feel like you don't even have a father! You wouldn't know anything Cornel!" My voice is shaky from anger and sadness. I knew I was going to snap at him sooner or later.

I turn an storm out of the room. I hear Ara coming after me yelling my name. I burst through the front door and start running. The only thing that ran through my mind was when Mom died, and left Ara and me with him. The worst part is that Aralyn doesn't understand anything that's happening. She doesn't see how the Cornel is ignoring us.

I run to a nearby tree and sit against its trunk. Ara comes soon after and sits by me. I pull my legs toward my body and burry my face in my knees. "It's ok Kate. Please don't cry," Ara says. She puts her arms out wanting to hug me. I put my legs down and hug her.

"I love you Aralyn. You know that right?" I ask, smiling. She smiles back, "I know. I love you too. I love you, Daddy, Mommy, and Riza. She's like another mommy." Ara laughs a little bit and then says, "You do to right?" I nod. Of course I do. He may be a horrible father, but I still love him. Right?

I hear a cracking noise in the distance. Like a twig breaking. Is someone watching us? "Aralyn. Listen to me. Run back to the house and get Dad. I will be behind you, and don't stop. No matter what," I say sternly. "Why?" She asks. "Tell Daddy that I'm taking care of a bad guy. Okay?" She nods and gives me another hug. "Don't get hurt." "I won't."

Ara starts to run back like I told her to. "Who's there?" I call out. "Guess you've caught me..." A man's voice answers. He comes out from behind a tree and points a gun at me.

He is a tall man in a military uniform and from his pocket hangs a metal chain. Mustang has one like that. A state alchemist watch... He had short blonde hair and blue eyes. "What do you want with me?" I ordered. "I have orders kid. Wether you struggle to die or not is your problem," he shrugs. "Who are you exactly?" I ask.

"You can just call me En-" he stops himself. "Endil." He was going to say something else, wasn't he? "Kate?" Ara calls. What is she doing? I told her to go to the house! "So you are Kate Mustang," Endil says. "And that's your sister Aralyn. You see, if I see her then I have to kill her instead." My eyes widen, "Ara! Go back home! Get Dad. Now!" I yell. Please listen. I can't lose you too. Please Ara. Please...
