About five minutes past of me just staring at the wall, thinking of what happened. Riza walks in with two crutches and smiles at me. She then sets them by my bed so I can reach them if I needed to. "Thank you," I say.
"You're welcome. Are you hungry? If you are, I can get you some food," Riza says. "Huh? Oh, sure," I say. She walks out of the room, leaving me alone again. I look around my room and see everything that used to belong to my sister-her favorite doll, some toys, picture books, and a necklace that had belonged to our mother. It has a silver chain and a blue crystal on it. It was too big for Ara so she never wore it.
I slowly start to get up, but wince as I do. I feel all the pain rushing to my leg. Now, I sit on the edge of my bed and grab my crutches. To my surprise, they're just the right height. I go over to Aralyn's old nightstand and put my hand around the necklace.
Riza walks in and sets some food on my bed. "You should be laying down, Kate. It's not good for you to be walking around just yet," she says. I nod and take the necklace. It's something to remember both Aralyn and Mom. I make my way over to the bed, more quickly this time.
As I sit on my bed, I wince again. This wincing is really getting annoying... I look at what Riza brought for me and I see a bowl of soup, milk an some bread. "Is there any water by chance?" I ask. I don't really like milk-never have, never will. If my life depended on it, I might consider drinking it, but other than that... nope.
Riza laughs a little and says, "Milk's good for you. Drink up." I say, "Nope. I'm not drinking that crap." I push the milk away and start to eat my soup. Riza looks at me, "Why don't you like milk?" I scoff, "It's disgusting! Who would like it?" She smiles and walks out of the room. I'm not drinking that. I don't care what she says.

I finish everything on my tray, but my milk of course. I'll need a leg to get around, but I don't know what I could use. Honestly, I don't want to be on crutches for the rest of my life. The other day Mustang was talking about two boys at a shop... And they had mechanical limbs. What was it called? Come on Kate, think. Auto mail! That's it.
"Riza?" I call out. She opens the door, "Yes? What is it, are you hurt?" I shake my head. "I need to get auto mail. But I don't know where to go. Can you help?" She looks at me confused, "Why don't you ask your father?" I snap, "What father? If you're referring to the Cornel, I don't want him to know."
I pause but then say in a softer voice, "Please Riza. I heard about these two boys who had auto mail limbs. I nee to find who did that." She's not going to is she? She's probably going to go to the Cornel. I just know it...
"It was in Resembool. The two boys' names are Edward and Alphonse, look for the Rockbell residence. I can't say anything else," Riza says. She's actually going to help me with this! "Thank you so much, for everything," I say. "Before you leave I suggest you get some rest. And don't worry, this'll stay between us," she smiles. I open my arms for a hug, and she walks over and gives me one.
"You know," I say, "Aralyn and I see you as a second mother. Ara said she she loved you, Mustang, me, and our mom. And she said that she loved you like another mother. I have to admit, I do too." I figure she should know how much Ara loves her. Also, it makes up for me never saying it.
I give a slight smile. It's the best I can do right now. Tears form in her eyes but she blinks them away. She gives me another hug and says, "Thank you for telling me that." She pulls away and asks if I want her to pack things for me. I say no and that I can do it myself and she walks out of the room again.
Today I will pack and rest.
Tomorrow I will get auto mail.
