"Jay! Holy shit, that was savage!"

"Ashley! Hey, over here! What happened?"

"Are you getting expelled?"

"Are you having detention on Wednesday? I'm having detention on Wednesday!"

People yelled questions and demands at Ashely and Jay as they forced their way through the crowded halls, keeping their heads down for the illusion of modesty. In truth, they'd gotten off with a week's detention and a phone call home after the so-called ' provoked attack. '

"Jay, Ashley," a voice hissed from behind a row of lockers.

The two girls exchanged a look and ducked around a corner, hoping not to be pursued.

It was Garrett Lewinsky, former football captain. Now a senior, he was focusing more on his academics and less on sports, despite hoping for an athletic scholarship. "I'm having a party Friday night, to celebrate back-to-school shit and whatnot. It was going to be juniors and seniors, but since you're hot stuff, apparently..." He looked around. "My place, the second school gets off till noon on Saturday. Don't bring friends. Don't be late."

"Friday? But that's..." Jay stepped on Ashley's foot before the blond girl could finish her sentence.

"We'll be there." Jay promised with a half-smile.

Garrett rubbed his hands together. "It's gonna be wicked, man," he laughed, and disappeared.

Ashley immediately turned to Jay. "But we have to stay after school two hours on Friday! We can't just hop in a car with a bunch of seniors and go so some party with some guy we don't even know!"

"Says who? Your grandmother?" Jay challenged. "You know what it's like on Fridays - people pouring out of the building like a waterfall. No one's going to notice us!"

Ashley scoffed. "You're such a bad influence on me," she complained.

Jay grinned. "So, you'll do it?"

Ashley gave Jay a look. After a moment's pause, she clasped Jay's hand and pulled her in for the signature ' bro-hug. ' "Hell yeah, bitch."
