Ashley caught up with Jay as she slipped away from the party. "You were behind that blackout, right?" She demanded.

"Who else? Besides, I was drunk and dared." Jay snapped. "Sorry I tried to make out with you."

"Apology accepted. Actually, wait - apology denied! I was this close to making out with a super hot senior!" Ashley shrilled. "And the second the lights went off, he started screaming like a little girl, and our teeth bumped! Next time, just make out with me all the way so that I don't wander off and bump into Bryce Adams."

"Ew, Bryce?" Jay wrinkled her nose. "The mathlete?"

"No, it was Adams, not Adder. Isn't that so funny? The mathlete's last name is Adder!" Ashley giggled. "Whose jacket is that?" She realized.

"Mick's." Jay replied simply. She smiled a little.

"Mick who? Oh!" She gasped. "That hot kid from the office?" She dropped her voice a little.

"Yeah. He's a junior. And he has a boyfriend." Jay didn't feel like talking. She felt ridiculous.

"Ooh, that makes sense. Gay guys are always so hot." Ashley said sympathetically.

"I think he said something about being bi. I don't know...I was pretty drunk." Jay still felt a little drunk, but the cold pool water had really woken her up.

"Ohmygod. Bi guys are the sexiest." Ashley agreed.

"Don't you think that about all guys?" Jay complained.

"Not Bryce Adder. Why are you being such a sourpuss?" Ashley shouldered Jay. "Wait." Her eyes widened. "When you were talking to Mick...did something happen? I mean, you're soaking wet and you're wearing his jacket."

Jay sighed. "When I kissed you on the couch, do you remember the couple next to us?"

"No." Ashley decided.

"Ugh, you're an idiot. Anyway, that was Mick and his boyfriend. Anyway, I straddled Mick and tried to make out with him in from of Amari, and Mick was cool right up until I tried to actually kiss him." Jay held her stomach. "I feel like an idiot."

"Well, you were pretty trashed." Ashley consoled.

"After that, it's kind of blurry...he pulled me outside...dared me to blackout the pool. I did it, obviously..." Jay put a hand to her temple. "I guess...I must've fallen in the pool, or something. I don't remember. Mick dived in and pulled me out...I took off my shirt...he gave me his jacket." Jay summed up. "And I'm still single."

"Wow." Ashley nodded. "You failed."

"I fucking got that, Ashley." Jay leaned her head all the way back. "Fuckkkkkkkk," Jay groaned.

"I totally see you guys together, though. I mean, you have so much in common. Weird fascination with leather, you both smoke which is kinda gross, you both have a complete disregard for the rules, you have monosyllabic names."

"Thanks, Ash," Jay sighed, and started on the walk home.
