Many people will try to tell you who you are, who you are not, who you should be, what you should want. They will try to keep you in a box, when you are actually one of the most confident people-- even if you don't know.

Recently, I have heard someone explain to me what makes us and Jesus so indescribably different. The explanation started with the story of His death, burial, and resurrection. At first, I was like, "Okay, yeah. Heard this before."

HOWEVER. Without the resurrection, there would be no reason for any of this. In fact, the Bible describes how after Jesus' death, the disciples were going back to their daily lives. They didn't know anything about Jesus coming back from the grave. After three years of following Him, He dies. So... Now what?

They tried to return to normal life. God had something else in mind.

Jesus came back to them. He took our penalty, our sin, our shame, and totally crushed it. The resurrection gives us a reason to follow and believe. Without it, we would just have a prophet. Jesus was the Son of God, and He didn't come just to die! He didn't just say some stuff and leave. He came to save our lives.

In 1 John 3:1 states, "See what kind of love the Father had given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are."

Friends, we are counted as HIS! The God who came and died for us, then rose to give us life-- We belong to that power, that love, that beauty. And since we are His and dwell in Christ, we are not our failures. God sees you with so much love, we have yet to comprehend how amazing it is.

Being driven by the Gospel isn't about knowing all the verses Jesus' says or having all the answers. It's knowing who you are and letting your heart be filled with God's joy. He brings purpose and life.

He has so many things in store for you, and we don't even know yet. Invest yourself in Him, and He will begin to show you what He is doing. Keep your true identity in mind; life will run its course, but God will keep you grounded.
