*Tricia's POV*

It was a calm Thursday afternoon and all was well as I stood outside my locker waiting for my best friend when I spotted someone walking towards my direction.

I turned around and faced my locker, secretly praying that he did not see me. I do not want to go through with this every single day.

"Hey, Patrick-" a voice whispered dangerously close to me.

"Patricia" I turned around and retorted.

"Patrick the Star, if you could just give me a moment, I would love to confess my innermost feelings to you, I think you're pretty amazingly... stupid not to realise how hot I actually am!" Landon, our school's notorious playboy winked at me.

"Yeah sure, because the only qualities that you have is your body. You do know inner beauty trumps over outer beauty anytime, right?"

"You're just jealous! I'm hot and you're not!" He exclaimed.

"And... what kind of rebut would that be? Are you sure you're not 5?" I glared at him. I looked him up and down. He obviously had an 18 year old body attached to his 18 year old head but I wonder how old was his brain? Right, 5.

"Oh I am 5," he smirked "and this 5 year old kid will make you fall head over heels in love with him." He smirked.

"God! Just leave me alone." I said as I felt blood rushing to my face. Luckily for me, the bell rang just in the nick of time, signalling to the students that the gates were now open.

"I'm going to go back under my rock that you said I live in. G O O D B Y E" I said lacing every word and letter with distaste like I just ate some broccoli. And the worst part is? I can not, for the love of my life get that taste out of my mouth.

He's a broccoli.

I picked up my bag and stepped out of the school compound without looking back. The wind rush passed my ears and a familiar voice called out to me.

"Tricia! Aren't you a great little soul for leaving the school compound first without waiting for me?!" Abigail shouted.

I scowled at her.

"Oh looks like someone got her tail stepped on today. Did you get your ass burnt? Because you sure look angsty!" She looked at me with a hint of confusion showing up on her face.

"Don't even get me started on it." I rolled my eyes.

"Was it Landon? Because I just saw him and he told --- "

"Shush. Sh sh sh I just want to have a peaceful 30 minutes before I have to face him again." I interrupted Abigail before she could even finish what she wanted to say.

"Why do you have to see him again?" Abigail questioned.

Oh shoot. My secret.

"Erm..." I hesitated.  "We have a project that is due next week and I hope to complete it as soon as possible." I answered, waving my hands slightly dismissing this topic immediately.

"Anyway how was your day? You sure look happy for someone seeing her Friend looking so upset." I said making a sad face at her.

"Oh you know... Trevor asked me out today..." she smiled shyly.

Glad that I changed the topic, I pressed on.

"He finally asked you out. Oh My Gosh Girl! I have been preparing you for this moment for years and you actually look great on this day." I said eyeing her black dress that was just slightly longer than her fingertips. " I feel like a proud mom on the day of her little one's graduation. My little kid has grown up so fast. One day she will be married with kids and she will teach her kids about the ways of life just like how I taught her." I wiped away my fake tear as I cooed at Abigail.
