"What do you mean we have a check-up today?? I haven't had proper sleep in a week and I'm just surviving off nutella, mate."
"We still do..." Scott said with a sad smile to his best friend. "I don't want it as much as you but...you'll survive it I guess." He laughed.
Leia replied, smirking, "Hopefully.."
Just then Mrs. Cranston, the school office receptionist came towards Leia and Scott and said,"Leia, your father has called you. Please take the call in the office."
Leia suddenly looked very worried and said to Scott," What the hell?"
Scott looked as blank as Leia but said softly "You should probably go take it."
So Leia walked briskly towards the school office and picked up the phone receiver.
"What is it?" Leia asked harshly.
"Leia, honey, listen to me, whatever your mom has told you about me leaving her is not true! I would have called you before but your mom had got her as well as your number changed and there was no way I could reach you..honey, do you want to know where I really am? And with who?"

"What did he want to say, Lei?" Scott asked his oddly disoriented looking friend."He...he didn't cheat on mom. Mom lied," Leia said with tears in her eyes. "I was lied to by my own mother who said that her husband was cheating on her with Mrs. Peterson!" Now Leia was positively drowning in her own tears.
"It was mom, Scott! It was my mom who was actually cheating..." Leia couldn't speak anymore, the mental shock that she had just received made her unable to comprehend anything.
Scott pulled her into a hug and she cried her eyes out on her best friend's shoulder.
After a while Scott whispered, "Are you alright now? Can you speak?"
Leia nodded and started telling him what her father had told her. "My mom...was cheating on my dad with Mrs. Peterson." A shocked silence followed after which Leia continued,"Dad found out and gave her a warning...she apparently ignored him and continued her affair...that's why dad left us, Scott. It wasn't his fault."
"But where is he now?"
"He's gonna tell me when I meet him next week. At Ray's Diner."
"Are you sure that your father isn't lying...Lei?" Scott hesitantly asked her.
"Who knows?" Leia said, her eyes sad but full of fire, her heart racing in tune with her thoughts.
