"It's not she, it's they! Just ignore me if you can't respect my pronouns!". The door slammed shut as Raven stormed out on the front porch of a large, looming house. "Bloody idiots." Raven said under their breath.
Raven had been walking on the road for about a quarter of an hour, their black satchel swinging on their shoulder, when they heard the faint sound of someone crying from inside an alleyway.
They cautiously approached the dark, narrow path and peeked from behind a cardboard box.
The slouched figure of a boy in a designer bomber jacket could be seen as Raven edged neerer. He seemed to have been injured quite badly as he gave a moan while trying to get up.
"Hey." Raven called out.
Two large, pale eyes looked up at Raven's tall figure and the boy said " What is it? Are you one of them??"
"No, I'm not...hopefully." they said and smirked at the crouched figure. The boy smiled slightly, and in obvious pain and said " I'm Anthony."
"Raven." They gave him a hand and he helped himself up.
"What happened to you, eh?" Raven said as Anthony dusted himself off. "Some guys beat me...I don't care."
"Alright... But that looks like a pretty jacket, eh, posh boy?" Raven grinned at him. "You don't look that bad, either." He smirked back at them, finally having found someone who didn't hate him on first sight.
