prologue
You may be asking why?
Why, didn't you put up a fight?
Why would let this happen to yourself?
Why did you get push into this?
Why, why, why?
I'll gladly answer.
This is not something new for me.
I always heard people trying to make deals with parents, but they always used to say "she to young we'll find another way"
I didn't know what the other ways where when my dad was alive, but when he died I knew they way she went.
It broke my heart at what she had to do to pay back debt. I wanted to help but I was still too young to do anything.
When I turn fifteen I wasn't, she wanted to marry me off to this man. He wasn't so old at least but he was five years my senior.
No, matter how much I begged, screamed, and cried for her not to do this to me, she didn't care.
I didn't help that she had that man whispering in her ear about what they could get from this the money. How she wouldn't have to sell her body anymore, wouldn't have to let all those men touch her. That the only man that would touch her was him.
That really got her, and hated her for that even more so him.
I love my and hate her job choice but it's the only one she could do for us to have happy life style.
I told her she doesn't have to do it, that it isn't giving up your pride or losing dignity if she asks for help. That she just gain what she didn't have anymore.
I guess she took that the wrong way, she said "I'm doing this for you! Everything I do was for you! Don't critic me on my life, I'm your mother! You're so ungrateful you privileged little bitch!"
It didn't any make sense, but I act like it did.
I told her I didn't care for having the new iPhone.
That was okay not leaving the life on TV.
That I just wanted her to be safe and at least have the slightest bit of happiness.
She did listen or just didn't care of what I had to say.
The only way I got out of that marriage is because the groom found a bride of his own and fled town.
All though I only meet him a couple of times he had told me he did not want to wed me.
That he dose not wants to get married to an "underage woman a woman that he did not love"
I couldn't be happier when he said that. He told it was his parents especially his father who want him to get married to me. A "young and obedient wife" is what his father would tell him to get since he was young.
He grew up not wanting a young slave as his wife, but a woman who has respect for herself.
So, my groom left me to get married to whom he loved a beautiful woman I only meet once.
I could see why he loved her anyone would be just plain ignorant if they didn't.
As he left town word flew around like an angry bee protecting its hive. Only a handful if people new we were to wed, but everyone new who was my groom to be.
My mother wasn't the last to hear but I was.
She stormed into my room as I was one my bed reading.
She was screaming and yelling at how my groom left a week before the wedding at how I was telling him to go because I did not want to get married.
I told her the truth of how I knew that he did not want to get married to me, that I knew loved another woman, and that I was happy for him.
I never once told him to go off with her or how I did not want to get married to a man I did not love or know.
He figured that out for himself.
She didn't want to hear it. That was the first time she put her hands on me but was also the last.
We never really talk that much after that but it only got worst when she caught what that man was doing to me.
She was furious with, him, herself and me.
She was angry disgusted with him.
She got him off me when she hitting him over the head with something knocking him out, completely. She grabbed the phone and dialed the police not taking her eye off the man on the floor.
The officers let their self in I guess since me and my mom didn't move from our space.
One officer ran to my have naked body asking questions that I couldn't hear. As two went to that man on the floor, putting handcuffs on him.
As the paramedics put me in the ambulance I caught my mom's eye I could see the regret and anger in them.
She knew this wasn't the first time this happen and she was anger at me for not telling her.
I wanted to I really did, but that man would threaten my mom if I did the horrible things he would say he do to her if I ever opened my mouth.
The time of the trial is when we use to talk but, only about upcoming dates of when things would happen.
So it was a shocker when she knocked on my room door this morning talking about a wedding I never heard about. Telling me to come downstairs, we can have a cup of coffee.
She started to cry about how she couldn't do this anymore and she was sorry. Sorry that she already signed the papers and the wedding was this weekend.
I was so confused on what she was talking about until I she gave me the papers that had my name written on it my signature.
I was already married.
