"Jonah?"

"That's my name isn't it?"

"Makah, sweetie, wake up please," my mother says knocking at my room door.

What she failed to notice is that I was already awake. I only got two hours of sleep last night.

After what happen yesterday I just went into my room with papers in my hand. At first I was just in shock but, after two hours at just staring at my wall, I broke down started to cry.
I cried until I feel asleep but, didn't sleep for very long.

After the first time of what that man did to me I never went to sleep peacefully again.

"Sweetie you have to get up now you have school and..." She pauses, "we are supposed to go dress shopping today."

I want to scream as she said that, to curl up in a ball and die.

"Honey-"

"I'm up." I say in a low voice knowing she can hear me.

"Okay, well breakfast will be ready soon," she says then I hear footsteps walking away.

I get up a grab some clothes out of my draws and to the bathroom.

The bathroom was connected to my room since I had the master bedroom. My mom gave it to me after my dad had past; she was barley home so she said she didn't need it.

Taking a quick shower I brush my teeth then put my hair in a poof on top of my head.

I put on lotion then my clothes I picked out. I leave the bathroom quickly grabbing my phone off the charger then walk downstairs.

"Makah," my mom calls out "come eat breakfast you didn't eat anything last night."

I walked into the kitchen to see my mom over the stove cooking eggs.

I just stand there stare at her turned back until I hear someone clear their throat. My head quickly turn to see the person who interrupted me trying burn hole into my mothers back.

"Jonah?" I ask in shock.

"That's my name isn't it?" He asks raising his eyebrows.

I run over to him giving him a big hug.

Jonah Beck.

He's like an uncle to me I knew since I was born, which make sense he was the one who delivered me. He was a doctor who was in California for the last three years.

"Hey, kiddo I'm guessing and this is me just going out on a limb that you missed me." He laughs.

"Just guessing," I smile pulling away from the hug. "How are you, how have you been, why didn't you tell you were coming, did Joshua come to, are you-" my ramble is cut.

"Wow, wow. Let me at least answer one question before get another three out," he laughs, "first I'm good, I'm been doing quite well. I didn't tell I was coming because I wanted it be a surprise, and yes Joshua did come. He is actually finishing his last year with you."

"Wait so you're saying that josh is going to be doing rest of the school year here?" I ask excitedly.

"Yup, he is at the school right now." He says, sitting down in seat.

That's when I notice my mom had filled up three plates with eggs, pancakes, toast and bacon. Just seeing all that food made me sick to my stomach.

I look at my watch to see I have twenty eight minutes until I have to get to school.

"Oh, should get going to school now." I say grabbing an apple.

"You don't have to go to school in another have an hour." My mom says turning to look at me.

"Twenty seven minutes actually, and if I didn't have to go in that long why did you wake me up so early?" I ask looking at her, "plus I want to walk." I turn around to walk out the door.
"Bye Jonah, see you later!" I call out slamming the front door.

I absolutely hate my moms cooking more than anything especially her eggs they make me want vomit, but she does not care as always.

The walk to my school to my house is probably ten minutes. So I walk most of the time because it's the only exercise I get.

I don't do P.E. simply because I just don't want to. My gym teacher is a guy who is squeamish about a girl's flow so I just always tell him that I'm on my period.
He's not very smart but that's good on me.

When I reach the place that I call my second living nightmare it's buzzing with students, talking laughing, staring a gossiping. What or who about, I really could care less.

I don't really have friends here, just acquaintances. Most of my friends are older in college or over the phone like Joshua.

Joshua Evans.
Jonah Beck's sister's son.
His nephew.

I knew since I was three years old.
He lived in California with his parents but would visit his uncle every summer or just random times.
Since my parents were close to Jonah, Joshua and I use to always be around each other.
We became super close to each other so every summer we would hang out.
Of course I didn't see him in three years since Jonah was in California, and his parents would never send him over to people they've never met.

I have seen them on Skype once in a full blue moon, but only said "hi" and left him to talk to his parents in private. Which he would beg me not to, just making me laugh him and close the room door.

Since Jonah wasn't here, Joshua had no where to stay, he couldn't with us because they've never met my mom.
Especially because my mom was never home at night, and know one trusts two hormonal teenagers only at night. It didn't make sense, kind of like everything in my life, because neither I nor Joshua likes each other.

Adults don't see that though so it left me and Jonah to only talk online, call, or oovoo. It wasn't all so bad but, I miss seeing face to face. Not a screen in between us, but today I'm finally I'm going get to see him and I can't wait.
