Survive The Dead[COMPLETED]

Chapter 02

It has been five days of non-stop driving, fighting zombies, awkward silences, and sleep. 

They were hungry as well...very hungry but it was too risky to stop since they were so close to Canada. It was at least another two-day drive. 

"Noo...!" Lillian mumbled as the car slowed down. "What wrong Lills?" Lee asked as she cleaned her flute. "Well, we're out of gas and I don't know if there's any more fuel in the back," Lillian said worriedly. 

She also noticed that things had been oddly quiet. It was only morning and the zombies were more active around that time. Lee turned her head to see everyone sleeping peacefully. A sigh escaped her lips as she opened the car door. 

"I'll check to see if there's anything in the back," Lee said jumping out of the car. 

Lee held her flute tightly in her hands as she opened the trunk of the car, a disappointed look making its way onto her face when there was no more gas. She would hate to have Sora use her powers to push the car with her powers; the girl is way too unpredictable and random at times.

A groan came behind Lee making her turn around, a zombie inches away from biting her. 

How did she not hear it coming?! She instantly kicked it to the side stomping on its head. All the fluids and blood gushing out of its head as she ferociously killed the damn thing. She wiped her cheek, removing some blood that stained it. 

Lee suddenly froze at the sound of more and more groans as zombies came out from the trees. 

Lee instantly tried to play her flute to make the zombies paralyzed for a few minutes but it had no effect. It only just attracted more of them. 

"Shit, Lills we have a problem!" 

Lillian jumped at the sound of Lee's voice and looked outside. She gulped at the sight of more than 3 dozen zombies approaching the car. "Damnit! Sora, Sukino, Midnight, wake up you guys gotta fight for us!" Lillian said shaking the three.

All three of them opened their eyes lazily as they pushed Lillian aside.

"It's not time for school yet.." Sora mumbled turning onto her side. 

Lillian sighed as she looked back outside to see the zombies growing nearer. Lee was fighting off some of them since her flute was no good at the moment. The sound of gunshots filled their ears making all the sleepy heads in the car awaken.

Bang!

Bang! 

Bang!

The zombies fell to the ground dead one by one until they were nothing but corpses. Lee was against the car breathing heavily, confused about what they hell just happened.

Everyone inside the car ran outside. 

"I'm not the only one who heard gunshots right?" Sora said looking at her comrades. They all nodded making her sigh. 

"There have to be survivors in the area," Lee exclaimed.

"Yeah but no one would be dumb enough to use a gun out in the forest in this situation. Zombies are attracted to sound which makes guns not a good weapon to have." Lillian said, looking around suspiciously.

"Lills is right...If that's the case then those survivors aren't here to help us." Midnight mumbled.

"Guys there more zombies heading our way~!" Eric exclaimed as more walkers emerged from the mossy thicket that surrounded them. 

"Everyone in the car now! Midnight turn into a bird and scout the area. Watch your back. Iris will communicate with you and update us on whats going on. Sora you get the car moving and Sukino get the zombies off our tail!" Lillian exclaimed as they got into position.

Midnight was already up in the sky as Iris began communicating with her. 

Sora got the car moving with her powers while Sukino blasted the zombies into outer space.

"Tell Midnight if she sees anything suspicious!" Madz said to Iris. 

"She doesn't though my sixth sense is telling me that there's something in the woods," Iris mumbled. "But something is blocking my connection..." 

"Can you elaborate on what you're sensing?" Lee asked.

Iris closed her eyes and focused deeply on what she was sensing. She saw people holding guns in were in a car. She couldn't really make out their features but a strange symbol. 

"People! There are people a car with guns and for some reason, they're not being attacked by these zombies." Iris said.

"What?" 

"Okay guys, I'm done with the- Is everything alright?" Sukino asked climbing into the car. 

"Let's just say," Lillian said sliding up her glasses. "We might have a few enimies..."
