Midnight soon grew tired of flying so she flew down to the roof of the car, where Sora was sitting as she made the car move.
"You good?" Midnight asked shifting back into a human.
"There's no such thing as good anymore," Sora said laughing bitterly.
Midnight sighed and sat down next to her.
"What did Iris tell you?" Sora asked looking off to the side. Midnight sighed. "Someone caused that tiny horde of zombies to come after us. They were somewhere in the woods but Iris couldn't really make out who they were."
"Great just what we need. Let's just hope we lost them somewhere in the middle of all of that." Sora said giving her a bitter smile. Midnight nodded as both of them fell into a comfortable silence.
"Hey, guys!" Lee exclaimed sticking her head from out the window. Sora and Midnight looked down and waved at Lee. "What's up?" Midnight asked grinning happily at the tone of Lee's voice.
"We're almost to Canada! We'll be there by morning!" Lee said smiling.
"Finally~!" Sora said sighing.
They saw Lee turn her head and say a few words to someone; she stuck her back out and smiled brightly. "We just found a camp! Lillian said that we should check it out and see if there's any food!"
Midnight stood up and looked ahead, the sight of a fort making its way into their field of vision.
"Fuck me softly with a chainsaw..." Sora mumbled. "This isn't going to be good at all.

The car came to a stop as everyone got out, checking out the camp carefully. There was double wired fencing with the support of woods stilts. There was a large gate that seemed to be the entrance of this place.
"Stop! Put your hands up!" A voice exclaimed making the group do as they say.
The group put their hands up and froze as multiple people on top of the gate pointed guns at them.
"Lills are you sure this is a good idea?" Madz whispered worriedly.
"We'll stay for food and supplies and we'll be on our way. We would be dead right now if we didn't have super powers." Lillian whispered back. "How long do intended to keep on starving? When we get to Canada we can't guarantee shelter immediately."
Madz sighed and gave Lillian a dull looked before agreeing with her in defeat suppressing the feeling of doubt and suspicion of this place.
"Please help us! We only want food and water. We are unarmed and wish to seek shelter in Canada. So please help!" Lillian said.
They all watched as the men gave each other looks.
"I don't think they trust us.." Sukino mumbled. "Yeah, they seem to doubt the fact that we're still alive with no weapons," Eric muttered with a shrug. "True.." Iris said diverting her gaze to something else. Her sixth sense was telling her that there was something off but she couldn't put a finger on it.
The gate suddenly opened, revealing a man around the age of 20 with a few other people behind him. The man came out to them all greeting them with a friendly smile.
Lillian turned her head back and gave the group a serious look. "No matter what, do not tell anyone about your powers!"
"Hello~" The man said kindly. "I hope my guards didn't scare all of you youngsters. Please come inside." The man said turning around leading them into the camp.
"You're not going to check us for any bites?" Madz asked suspiciously.
"Oh don't worry, I already know you don't have any." He said with a smile. "I'm Marcus and I hope you all can help us out here~"
"Well actually, we were just stopping by!" Lillian said nervously. She turned around and grabbed Sora, wrapping an arm around her. "We were able to get in contact with Sora's family in Canada and they're waiting for our arrival."
"Yup!" Sora said picking up on Lillian's plan.
"Hmm? Is that so? When was the last time you contacted them?" He asked turning to face them.
"The second day of the apocalypse?" Sora said with a nervous smile.
"Reception was dead the first day this mess happened. There's no way you could've contacted them." Marcus said bending down to Sora's height.
Sora gulped as they made eye contact. The group fell silent, completely stunned by this guy and how much he knew.
"Now, how about we get all of you kids settled into a place and then decide on how things are going to play out from here.." Marcus said pushing them into a big town filled with large houses.
There were two houses for the eight of them.
Sora, Midnight, Sukino, and Iris were all in one house while Eric, Lee, Iris, and Madz were placed in another. The only problem was is that they were two houses away from each other.
This guy's trying to separate us... Iris said to everyone telepathically. At night let's sneak into my assigned house and say there. We're stronger together.
Ok. The group replied, complying with Marcus's orders for now. Once they got settled into their homes, Marcus told them all the rules of the area. "Do you understand everything?" He said to them. They all nodded. "Great, if you need anything let me know~" Marcus said waving them goodbye walking off to do god knows what.
"Tsk, what a creep," Sora said walking into the house.
"I know right!"
"I hope they have food because I'm starving!" Midnight said running to the fridge making everyone laugh.
Marcus walked into his home and walked over to his computer, turning it on. He switched on the cameras as he watched the kids get settled in their new homes.
The monitor showed Sora, Sukino, and Midnight watching tv, jumping up and down at how happy they were to have power while Iris sat in the kitchen drawing. In the second house, Lee was practicing her flute, Eric and Lillian were discussing some things while Madz canned the area suspiciously.
"Lills when do we leave?" Madz asked annoyed walking up the Lillian.
"Chill Madz, we just got here. Honestly, we could use the break and we'll leave tomorrow after a good night sleep for sure."
Marcus an evil laugh before shutting off the computer. "Something tells me you all won't be leaving for a long time...."
