The blonde picked up his bag and began walking down the bleachers before a player had stopped him. Approaching him, Simon saw he was just an inch or two shorter then then him with baby blue eyes and a mess of dirty blonde hair on his head. But Simon had decided that suited him well.
With a small grin the younger boy stated, "Your the new kid right? Simon is it?"
Simon, confused that anyone recognised him much less remembered his name replied, "That's me. Um, who are you?"
"Oh yea right. Harry. One of the teachers pointed you out to me earlier, said you were an artist." He breathed a slight chuckle.
"I guess," the elder had timidly responded. He was never the most boastful about his talent. He much preferred keeping things like that to himself. That helped him survive at his old school, he thought it would help him here. Maybe here it was different. Maybe he doesn't have to fly under the radar.
"Well if you wanna hang out sometime I'll give you my number."
Dropping his bag to the floor, Simon had exchanged phones with Harry, typing in their numbers and returning them. Then Harry smiled and walked off. He couldn't deny that he was excited that he'd met someone that he could talk to. Simon looked down at his phone.
New Contact: Haz 😎
Suddenly a broad noise had diverted Simons attention to the ground. Someone ran into his bag sending pastels, pencils, brushes, and his book onto the floor. He quickly raced to pick everything up and put it back in the bag before anyone had seen his stuff. Though he knew that was useless considering they had already seen and some pastels had been broken with their content staining the concrete.
"Oh god I'm so sorry," a familiar voice said remorsefully.
Simon looked up seeing JJ crouch down to help him pick up his things. Shyly, Simon spoke, "don't worry its fine."
"I'm JJ by the way," the dark skinned boy stated.
Heart pounding Simon stuttered, "S-Simon."
Looking down the other grinned, "I assume your into art then?" The dark skinned boy chuckled. To which Simon briefly nodded. He couldn't deny being scared of talking to him, scared he'd say even the slightest thing wrong.
Simon pushed a smile onto his face, "it was nice meeting you and you did great in the game. I have to get home though."
JJ smiled back at Simon, "thanks. Sorry about the broken crayon things, and I'll see you around Simon." Simon nodded his head back small grin on his face, though behind it he was absolutely beaming.
The blonde picked up his bag, turned on his heel and left. Mentally cursing at himself for being so shy and awkward, seemingly trying to force his way out of a conversation with him because of it. So with that Simon had left with broken pastels and an unkowingly slightly lighter bag. JJ spotting a smallish book lying on the ground debated on what to do with it. Considering the older boy had already left. So JJ opened the book and turned the pages.
You know when you have a story and have no idea where it's going you just hope you find it along the way? Yea. Also someone give me an award for shortest chapters ever. I'll gladly take it. 😂
Oh and quick question, how do other writers basically write one thought but manage to turn it into a whole paragraph? Like maybe I could have added more detail and that (which I'll probably be editing this soon) but like how?
