Jace was running towards Magnus to make sure he was okay, not that he cared much for the Warlock he just didn't want him to die for Alec's sake. It would break him and he would never be the same and Jace couldn't go trough that.
"Magnus are you okay?" Jace asked frantically checking the surroundings for the greater demon who had vanished only moments before.
No answer.
"Magnus! Are you okay?" Jace tried to make of things that may anger him in case he was joking around though Jace couldn't see why he would be joking, he had to check anyways.
"You're clothes are terrible, Chairmen Meow like me better than you, and..." Jace wasn't sure if he could bring himself to say the last one out loud just in case Alec over heard, so instead Jace leaned down to Magnus' ear and whispered
"Alec doesn't love you, he pities you, he doesn't love you, he has never loved you and he will never love you."
"Jace! Why would you say that I do love him I don't care if he unconscious he could still hear you!" Alec managed to get through the sentence without breaking down, but the moment he finished tears started rushing down his face. Jace wasn't sure how to comfort his brother other than engulfing him in a hug and allowing him to cry.

All Magnus could see was darkness, he could hear things, but only bits and pieces. He never loved you, he will never love you Magnus could hear Jace and his heart broke at the words and Magnus believed them. He then heard a voice over powering the soft whisper of the blonde shadowhunter I do love him I don't care if he's unconscious he could also hear sobs which recognized all to well as Alec's. He wanted to move to comfort him he tried but his body was limp and he had no control. He felt familiar arms pick him up and soon after that he was laying on a familiar surface.

"What are we gonna do?!" Alec yelled as he glanced down at his boyfriend laying on the bed.
"We need a warlock because we don't know what this poison is doing and obviously a healing rune won't be helpful in this situation."
"We'll call one."
"We can't all the qualified ones are at the institute-" Jace was cut off by Alec who was becoming frustrated and annoyed.
"Great so we'll take him to the institute!" Alec began to move to pick up Magnus, but Jace grabbed his arm his voice was soft and tender as if not wanting to scare Alec away.
"We can't all the beds are full with the others involved, including Izzy, that's why we brought him here in the first place." Alec couldn't take it anymore. He ripped his arm away from Jace and stormed into the living room ending in the couch with his hands running through his hair.
"Alec-" Jace said approaching Alec slowly.
"What!" Alec looked up, there were tears streaming down his face and his entire body was tense.
"We'll figure something out."
"Like what! Magnus is the one who always solves these kinds of problems but he can't help us this time because if you haven't noticed he's the one unconscious!" Alec was yelling through the sobs and Jace was taken aback at his brothers reaction.
"We'll find someone I promise." There was silence for a few minutes and Jace sat next to Alec on the couch and began rubbing his back in order to comfort him.
"Jace, I-I can't go through loosing him again it was too much, but this time it won't just be temporary I can't do it." His voice was calm, smooth, and almost a whisper.
"I know we'll figure something out."
"Jace can you give me a minute I just wanna go be with him."
"Sure I'm gonna go check on Izzy but I'll be back." Jace stood up and walked over and opened the door, but he paused and looked at Alec who was still crying.
"He'll be okay" Jace tried to help he truly did, but it just didn't seem to be working right now so he left.

Alec stood and walked into the bedroom where Magnus was laying. He looked so peaceful and happy, but Alec wondered if he was scared or wanted to be woken up at all, it just all seemed so peaceful. In that moment staring at Magnus he lost it, he broke down and fell onto his knees. Smashing his fist against the hardwood floors and just crying. He couldn't stop, but he needed too he couldn't allow himself to fall back into the despair from their weeks of separation. He pulled himself together just a little bit and went over to Magnus and kneeled down next to him. He grabbed his hand and rubbed his thumb over the knuckle of the warlocks hand.
"Magnus I'm so sorry. I did this to you. I was the one not paying attention. I was the one who didn't turn and run fast enough to protect you. I wasn't even the first one to check on you. I'm so sorry Magnus. I know you can't hear this but I love you so much, I love you with all of my heart and that will never change I promise you that. I love you Magnus Bane." Alec leaned down and Kissed Magnus on the lips. It was soft and tender but so powerful.

Magnus wanted to move to wake up and tell Alec it was okay. It wasn't his fault, but he couldn't there was something in this endless sleep tying him down so that he could never leave. He wondered if he ever would wake up, and he just hoped that Alec will find someone to wake him up because in that moment all Magnus wanted to do was be with Alec. He knew Alec was there making sure he was okay, but he wanted to hold Alec and tell him one of this was his fault.

When Jace returned to the apartment he couldn't find Alec. He became nervous and ran to the bathroom just to make sure he didn't do something he'd regret later. When Alec wasn't in there he sighed a sigh of relief and he rushed into the bedroom and he smiled at the site of Alec asleep next to Magnus with his arms wrapped him.
"Alec?" The boy woke up slightly.
"Ya?"
"How you holding up?" Jace didn't want to wake Alec up anymore than he already was he felt guilty for waking him up in the first place.
"I'm okay I guess. Just tired."
"Alright well I'm gonna sleep on the couch. Let me know if anything changes."
"Okay, night Jace."
"Night Alec" the blonde shadowhunter left the room and headed to the couch grabbing a pillow and a blanket on the way. He laid there for a moment staring at the ceiling hoping that Magnus would wake up soon, so that Alec could be with him again. Jace saw how much of an impact even a few hours with Magnus in this state had on Alec and Jace couldn't bare the thought of Alec having to go through this for several days, weeks, months, or even- god forbid- years.
"Please let him wake up" Jace whispered to himself. He fell asleep only moments after.
