A lead

This was useless. Who was I to think that I could just leave the hideout and find Itachi on my own without any leads? I'm an idiot! What was Kisame thinking allowing me to leave the hideout like that? If he had just kept his mouth shut... but secretly I'm kinda happy that I left. After all this time I still call the Leaf village my home, even if I can never return.

I've decided that I'll start tracking Orochimaru's movements. So, all I have to do is find Orochimaru! Easy right? Hah. He's dead, right? So I have to track his successor or something like that. It'll be hard since I don't know where to look but the best place to gather information is a bar. I smiled triumphantly as I stopped outside the hidden leafs gates. I don't have to worry about the barrier since I was once a citizen of Konoha.

I jumped from the tree branch to a rooftop and from their I slinked down into an alley and blended in with the crowd. I began searching for the nearest bar and soon found it. I pushed open the door to find it mostly empty. It was quite early so I wasn't surprised. I sat down at a table nestled in the shadows and activated my byakingan. None of these people were ninja so I was safe for now.

I deactivated my Kekei Genkei and leaned back in my chair. I guess I'd just have to wait for this place to fill up a little. I sighed and glanced at the customers once more. There was four men and one women. The women had short mauve hair and was staring at her drink with a cold look on her face. The men were nothing special. I don't recall seeing her a few seconds ago which means she must have just come in.

She looked at me with a harsh glare and averted my gaze. She's a ninja. I have to be careful around her or I might end up getting caught and that's the last thing I want.

As the hours went bar began to fill up but the women never once left. She kept staring at her drink, sipping from it every now and then. She seemed a,most impatient. I felt drawn to this women... not in a creepy way though! I feel like I should talk to her... she has a weird thing tied around her waist, rope maybe?

She got up and strutted over to me and lopped down in the seat across from me. She had a lazy expression on her face. Her next words surprised me.

"Your the one looking for Kabuto, right?" She said.

"U-um... yes! That's me." I coughed out. Awkward and surprised. I know who Kabuto is. Naruto had told me he was Orochimaru's right hand man or something. The women nodded approvingly and pulled out a light brown envelope. She slid it over to me with a grim expression.

"Here's the info. Now I suggest getting the 'outta here before those Konoha scum come running." She instructed before standing up and marching out of the bar. I grinned and grabbed the envelope, running out of the bar.

I finally got a lead. This was great! I grinned and hugged the envelope to my body. I would find Itachi in no time... hopefully.

I hurriedly pushed past the citizens of Konoha who gave me odd angry looks despite my apologies. I frowned as I approached the gates. Konoha was so much more different then what I remembered.

I set up camp sound ten o' clock around night and pulled out the information about Kabuto but written in red marker were two rods that sent shivers down my spine as I read them.

'Got you'

It was then my world went black.
