Okay before you all chant 'The River Person said 'Beware of the man who speaks in hands.'!' Hear me out! Okay? Okay, now let's begin. I've looked through some stuff and the evidence seems to pile against me. Gaster's full name is W.D. Gaster, the G.D. standing for Wing Dings, a font that uses hands to represent letters. But what if I say that Wing Dings was a form of sign language?
I have a little story to go with this headcannon actually! I believe before the Human and Monster war, monsters were scattered into clans based off of the type of monsters they were, so Gaster, (if you believe that he is a skeleton) lived in a skeleton clan. I believe this clan would be slightly secluded from other monsters because, look at Sans and Papyrus, they are powerful people! They could easily take care of themselves and (mini history lesson! are you proud of me dad? *dad has a bachelor's degree in history* *my least favorite subject is history* *has been called an idiot back in sixth grade by my father because of very obvious [to him and everyone else] U.S. History mistake, where I may or may not have thought a traitor was a president* [however in my defense it was a Language Arts assignment on a book about a boy collecting president cards and all he said was that he felt like him, I assumed he was a president! But then again assuming makes an a*s out of you and me right?]) like the Native American's many clans hand different languages, so how did the monster clans communicate? Wing Dings and bilingual (two languages) monsters. However not many knew the skeleton clan's language because of how secluded they were. When the war broke out all of the skeleton clan was killed off, except for Gaster. When the monsters were sealed underground no one but one person knew the skeleton language and the skeleton language is very complicated, so they all decided it would be easier to communicate through Wing Dings, later nicknamed Hands because it is used as a form of sign language where you use your hands. This way Gaster would use Hands to communicate, but he speaks in the skeleton language.
So now you can ridicule about whatever you want. However I hope you enjoyed this headcannon and if you did please vote, comment what you thought and follow if you want to see more. Anyways ta-ta for now~!
