The clock is ticking, her heart is beating. She's been waiting weeks for this moment.
She only has ten minutes till 4:30 am, which is when her mom wakes up for work. She has to get out by then.
She sets up the notes all nice and easy to find. Unlocking her window and slowly creeping out she takes one last look at her childhood home. With a sad sigh, Katherine starts her journey to the bridge.
While on her way she thinks of all the happy memories she has had. She almost convinced herself that this isn't the answer, but no, this seems like the most reasonable thing to do, this is the only thing that will stop the voices, the only thing that will stop the pain.
Finally arriving at the bridge Katherine looks around, it looks so peaceful, she wanted that. She wanted to be at peace.
Slowly making her way to the edge Katherine sits down at the railing. She didn't want to take anything too fast, she still had an hour or two until people would cross the lonely bridge.
Reaching into her pocket, Katherine grabs her pocket knife. Carefully opening the freshly sharpened knife, she carved her initials and the date into the old wood.
(Trigger warning)
After making her mark in the wood, Katherine takes a look at the knife. All the memories flood in, the memories of dripping blood, the memories of all the times she's hurt herself.Pulling up her sleeve, she reveals a clean wrist. She normally would do this action on a place such as her things or hips, where it's not noticeable. But this time it didn't matter, nothing did.
After taking a deep breath, Katherine takes the sharp knife and lightly presses it against her pale skin. Before dragging the blade she hesitates.. But quickly resumes her action. She repeats this a few times, before putting the knife away.
(End of triggering moment)
After a few minutes of staring into the peaceful movement of the water, kathering notices a much different movement.
In the corner of her eye she sees a girl walking torward the bridge. The girl seemed to be walking away from a party and a little tipsy but still able to hold herself together.
The girl spots Katherine sitting all alone, slowly walking over, Katherine starts to feel a bit uneasy. The girl sits down right next the Katherine.
"Hi, I'm chloe.." The girl sweetly says.
"Um, h-hi, i-i'm ka-Katherine,." Katherine quietly responds.
Katherine looks up at Chloe' s face, and man was it beautiful. She quickly looks away, trying to keep her mind set on why she came here.
(Sorta triggering)
Chloe inspects Katherine, her eyes got caught on the rolled up sleeve. She saw the fresh cuts, this made her stomach ache, her mind flooded with the memory of her seeing her older sister with cuts all over and telling Chloe not to tell anyone.
"What brings you here" Chloe says seriously, trying to get to the point.
"I just enjoy the view," Katherine says with a fake smile.
"Mmk..." Chloe responds, obviously not believing the silly lie.
After a few minutes a small talk, one of Chloes friends calls her over.
"Stay here, I'll be right back" Chloe softly says.
Katherine gives her a smile before she leaves, smelling the sweet scent her perfume left.
Once she couldn't see Chloe anymore, she stood up, she had to do this quick. Silently, Katherine starts trying to find a nice platform to stand on. Finally finding one, she climbs to the top, a slight smile creeping its way onto her face. She stands tall, ready for her fate. Almost ready to jump she takes a deep breath, closes her eyes, blocking out everything around her.
She starts to count down from ten. She opens her eyes for one last time, takes one last breath. She's about to start falling, but is quickly pulled back.
