The rest of the story from here is set in the present day (Stiles is 17 and Derek is 23) unless indicated otherwise.

"Scott, why are we out here again? After last night I think it's pretty clear us and the woods aren't a good mix." Stiles moaned as he followed his friend through the trees.

"I'm telling you Stiles, I know I found the body out here. It was somewhere around this area I know it was." He said looking around on the ground that was covered in crunchy, autumn leaves.

"How are you so sure that it was around here?" He asked. Stiles asked a lot of questions, he's a very curious person.

"Because," Scott said as he knelt down and picked up a plastic, blue object. "I dropped my inhaler when I found it, just before I was bitten." He added as he showed Stiles his inhaler.

"How did you know that was here?"

"I could sense it. All my senses have been heightened since I became a werewolf, it's amazing what I can do now that I couldn't before last night." Scott answered with a grin on his face. This grin suddenly faded as he looked around him.

"What is it?" Stiles asked, unsure of what was making Scott feel so uneasy.

"I heard something..." he said, still trying to figure out what the noise was. "We're not alone, there's someone getting closer to us."

"Yeah, you don't say." Stiles said sarcastically as he pointed to the man who stood in the trees not too far from them.

Something about this man was familiar. He wore a leather jacket with blue denim jeans and a grey v-neck shirt. He was extremely muscular and generally very good looking. From a distance he appeared to have a full on beard, but as he walked closer you could see it was nothing more than stubble. Then Stiles figured it out. He knew this man. He could never forget the beautiful green eyes that belonged to Derek Hale, his childhood hero.

Stiles turned to his friend and said "Dude, that's Derek Hale."

"Who?"

"Derek Hale, the guy that saved us 10 years ago. His whole family died that night in a fire at the Hale house." Scott looked at him with a confused expression.

"How did you remember a guy we haven't seen for 10 years?" He asked.

"His eyes. They're so unique, I could never not recognise them." He explained, still mesmerised by the eyes all these years later. Although Stiles thought Derek was attractive, he was still a little scared of him. Only thing was, he didn't know why.

"What do you 2 think you're doing?" Derek asked, his voice was husky with an angry undertone.

"We, uh, were... um" Stiles was lost for words as he looked at Derek.

"We were looking for my inhaler." Scott said, sort of rescuing Stiles from this awkward situation. "I dropped it last night, so we came back to look for it."

"You shouldn't be here, this is private property." Derek growled, his eyes changed to a bright blue glow.

Scott and Stiles backed up a little. They couldn't believe what they just saw. Derek was a werewolf, too. Stiles had to admit, he found Derek quite attractive, this wasn't helping. It also explained why Stiles was a little scared of him.

"You're the one that bit me, aren't you?" Scott shouted, getting closer to Derek.

"That wasn't me," Derek said calmly, looking over at Stiles then back at Scott. "if I bit you, you would've bled out and died. You have to be bitten by an alpha to turn." He added, still remaining calm.

"How do I know you're not lying?" Scott growled as his eyes began to shift to a glowing gold colour.

"Listen to my heartbeat," Derek said before staring at Scott, frightening him a little bit. "I did not bite you. See? Steady heartbeat. I'm not lying to you, Scott." Scott backed away slowly.

"I believe you." Stiles said quietly.

"I know you do, Stiles." Derek gave him a soft smile that made Stiles' heart melt. His hero remembered him, too.

"Ugh, I'm out of here." Scott said, storming off leaving Stiles and Derek alone.

"Sorry about all of that, I'm D-"

"Derek," Stiles interrupted, "Derek Hale. I know, I remember you." He said blushing a little bit.

"You remember me?" Stiles nodded.

"How could I forget the person that saved me and my best friend?" He smiled. "You're my hero. I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for you." The blush on his face for stronger.

"Yeah, I guess so." Derek smiled back. He couldn't help but smile at Stiles, the guy was beautiful.

"Stiles! Come on, you have the keys!" Scott shouted from the Jeep.

"I guess I should get going." Stiles sighed, the smile leaving his face at the thought of leaving Derek.

"Yeah, don't wanna leave you friend to get his panties in a bunch."

Stiles chuckled a bit. "I'll see you around I guess."

"You will." Derek replied smiling as he watched the boy walk to his Jeep. "Don't you worry about that." He said to himself before turning and walking back to his house.
