The lost Rhee

Chapter 2

Still walking, we both remained pretty much silent. We had some small talks of the walkers and a bit about our personalities but that's about it. Not once did I mention anything about Glenn not yet.

After walking for 20 minutes we were here. One more push through the bush all eyes were on me. I began fiddling with my thumbs because I was nervous. Shane looked at me with a smile resting a hand on my shoulder.

"Everybody listen up,, this is Lexi and I found her fighting of some walkers by herself, so I said she could come and stay with us, anybody gotta problem they come to me" Shane finished. I don't know why but this guy was nice.

"I've got someone you might like to meet" he said leading me over to a women and a boy who looked my age.

"Lori, Carl this is Lexi she's new here, listen bud can you look after her for me while I talk to your mum?" Shane asked the boy named Carl.

Carl nodded and took my hand leading me to something that looked like a caravan. He lead me over to the couch and we both sat down.

"Do you er maybe wanna play a game?" He asked.

I looked up and saw his crystal blue eyes. They were filled with happiness and fear at the same time, something told me that I wanted to get closer to this boy.

"Sure, watcha got?" I asked.

"Erm I don't know what do you think we should play?" He laughed making me chuckle a little aswell.

I then thought of a game that I had to be quick on my toes. I smiled and stood on my feet jumping up and down. Carl started to laugh at my actions.

"What game is that?" He asked still laughing.

"This one!" I said slapping his shoulder while running calling him saying his it.

Laughter filled both of us while the group watched us run around like old times. For once it wasn't a fake smile it was a real one. I stopped running to catch my breath to see he was walking fast up to me.

I put my hands in front of me laughing while walking back. He reached me and I grabbed ahold of his wrists but he managed to escape and grab ahold of my hands while we still were both laughing until he screamed.

"LEXI WATCH OUT!!" Our hands broke and I quickly turned around to be pushed to the ground by a walker.

With all my strength I held it back from my body the best as I could while it's teeth were clenching at my face. Just as I was about to give up an arrow was put through its eye blood splattering all over my face.

I pushed the walkers limp body off of my own. Standing up I ran into Carl's arms crying into his shoulder. He immediately hugged back rubbing smoothing circles on my back.

When we pulled away I blushed a little and I was embarrassed I let myself cry in front of him.

He held my hand as we came out from behind a tree. Lori and Shane came running over to us with confused and worried look on there faces.

"Carl baby, Lexi what happened?" Lori asked with a hand on both off our faces. Then i just cried all over again. Lori pulled both me and Carl into a hug.

"It was a walker!" Me and Carl said in unison.

"That's the first walker we've had here in months, Lexi you okay?" I nodded my head in response before Lori led me into the RV and sat me on a chair.

She quickly went back out and came back in with a pot of water and a clean cloth. She cleaned my face before Carl came in and sat next to me. He slowly took my hand and interlaced our fingers together.

"Mum can I sleep in Lexi's tent tonight please" he asked.

Lori looked down to our hands and smiled before nodding her head.

"Yes I trust you both, now be safe" she smiled before Carl pulled us to my tent. We zipped it up and laid in our sleeping bags.

I was still shaking from earlier but calmed myself down a little. I was on the drift towards sleeping land when Carl spoke.

"Lexi I'm sorry about earlier, I should've done something I should've protected you" Carl said with his hands in his hair due to frustration.

"Carl stop it wasn't your fault and in some way you did save me, if you didn't tell me about the walker I- I would've d-died." I finished breaking down again.

"Do you wanna sleep with me tonight lex?" Carl asked lifting his sleeping bag up and budging over a  bit. I nodded my head walking over and laying down.

I moved my head onto his chest and fell asleep to the sound of his soft heartbeat.

***NEXT DAY***

Me and Carl woke up to the sound of a loud car alarm. We both jumped up from our comfy spots and ran outside of the tent to soon be followed by Lori close behind.

Then a man with a crossbow appeared from behind a tree yelling, "would some one turn than bloody thing of!"

A man stepped out of the red race car with a baseball cap on. I looked at his face and dropped my knife on the floor falling down with it. He was there right there my brother.

"GLENN!!" I screamed. Everyone's head turns towards me as does his in the process.

"Lexi?" Glenn question tears welling in his eyes.

I nodded my head and ran into his arms. He picked me up and at this time we were both crying.

"I love you so much Lex" he said still clinging on to me.

"I love you to big brother" I said wrapping my arms around him again.

I had my brother back and this time it was for good.
