Ryder couldn't believe his brother and sister believed this guy. He kidnapped them and started driving them to who knows where and this guy seemed to persuade everyone but him. Ryder sighed, and Rowan looked up at him, annoyed.
"Cause we need to know the bitch that brought us here." Greyson inquired.
Luke looked at his fingernails, seemingly bored. "I could tell you, for a price."
Ryder groaned and put his hands into fists. "Look here, mister, we have been stuck in this car for hours and would like to get out, so just tell us who the hell wants us and why."
Luke flashed a sly grin, and Ryder noticed his sister glare at him, as if he was a poison she wasn't expecting.
Luke cleared his throat. "Well, if none of you have anything to offer, I guess you'll never know."
He looked at his fingernails again, seeming to really not care this time. If only I had my whip, I'd be able to torture the guy till he gave me the truth, Ryder thought. He felt a tug on his arm and looked down to see his little sister looking at him and then his hands. His hands smoked and sparked. He nodded his thanks to Rowan, and she studied Luke again.
Ryder only trusted Rowan to keep his secret from anybody else. Greyson would just go and blab it on to someone else and then Ryder would be in seriously big trouble. The big secret: He was the last person in the country to have magic installed into him. It became illegal once King Stracke became the leader. When the country got into the biggest war they had ever seen, the aftermath was horrible. Half the population was dead and every state was ruined to pieces, so the leader of the army, Stracke, had come up to the tower as leader and banned many things for their country, like learning to fight, having any weapons, and most of all magic. Exilirea was mostly a kingdom of no-no's. Ryder fought down the sparks on his hands and tried to relax, fire was one of the rarest powers in Exilirea and one of the only ones left, now that magic was illegal. Ryder counted to ten, one of the ways his mother taught him to control his powers. His mother had electric power and could turn on or off the lights at her touch. She also was the one to choose Ryder instead of Greyson for having this power, even though Greyson was older. Ryder secretly hates his powers, he feels like it makes him weak, as if his power drains his energy away.
"So," Ryder said, breaking the silence. "What do you want?"
Luke looked up and smiled a grin that made Ryder regret asking. "I want to get out of here, as much as you do, so if you help me get us out, I'll tell you who wants to have you."
Ryder was furious, "Oh, no. If we are going to get you out, than we have to know who wants us."
"You're really gonna play that game, huh?" Luke growled, standing up. He was almost as tall as Ryder, even though he looked younger.
Ryder pulled his dagger out of his shoe and held it up. "Oh yeah, baby."
Anger glistened in Luke's eyes and he pulled out 3 golden hunting knives from his belt. "You're on."
The air seemed to be filled with intensity and everything went down in slow motion. Ryder kicked up in the air, hoping to knock the air out of his attacker, but it seemed as if Luke knew exactly what move he was going to make before he made it, pushing Ryder's foot away from him. Ryder started seeing red as he threw fists and punches in the air, trying as hard as he could to turn this guy into a flat ass pancake. Luke fell over backwards on the wall and noticed that he was cornered. Ryder flicked open his dagger and stalked toward Luke, ready to end this.
