Luke kicked himself. If he wasn't arguing with Rowan, he would've heard someone before they stepped through. Rowan literally distracts him from everything. For some reason. He looked around for the first time in his cell. It was a wooden room, with a lock at the door. The room was moving slightly so he figured it was on a boat. The wood was flimsy enough that he could see another room next to his.

That sparked an idea, he could rip through the wood and hope that the person in that room was Ryder or Grayson so they could get out of here. He willed himself to do something he hadn't done in years: break out his claws. The transformation stung a bit since he hadn't practiced, but his fingernails grew longer and sharper, his hands gnarled to hold them together. He willed the transformation to stop before it consumed him. He ripped the wood apart easily and walked through.

Suddenly, he heard a scream.

~

Rowan was sitting in her cell, on the brink of picking the lock with her dagger right when a man with claws walked into her room.

When you think about it, screaming maybe might not have been the best idea, but give her a break. This day had been one disaster leading to another and she just couldn't stand another event happening right now.

She instinctively threw her dagger at the invader, but he caught it easily and threw it aside. Her fear had at first seen the man's face as a beastly one, but when she looked at him, he seemed familiar to Rowan. He snarled and backed her into a corner. Rowan stifled a scream and tried to think of a way to get out of this. Than the man laughed.

"Dang, Rowan," Luke said in between laughs. "I really scared you didn't I?"

Rowan flushed angrily, "No!" She replied hotly. "How did you get in here anyway?"

Luke hid his hands behind his back and cleared his throat. "The wood was too flimsy and was easy to get through." He glared at her. "And I was looking for better company to get out of here with."

Rowan raised an eyebrow suspiciously. She didn't believe him one bit, and to prove her doubt she moved herself behind him and grabbed his hands. Though the transformation was going down, she saw the point of claws on his fingernails.

"I knew there was something wrong with you!" She grabbed her dagger and picked the lock.

"Rowan, don't-"

She cut him off. "Why should I listen to you, when all you've done is drag us deeper and deeper into a hole. What's worse is that I actually believed you. I believed you're blue eyes when I should've believed my gut." she said and swung the door open into the arms of a hulking pirate.

"Well, well, well. A lass screams when her lad comes to rescue her. Don't sound like the storybooks, aye feller's?"
