I'm sitting on my bed with my phone in my hand and my eyes looking at the clock. I'm not dumb and Carl was supposed to pick me up two hours ago. He said he was busy tonight and that we can go out another night. I know he is on another drug run.
He promised me no more. If he got shot or killed I don't know what I would do with out him in my life. He is my everything. My world. I mean, whats Bonnie with out Clyde ya know?
So right now I'm waiting for a text back from him. I asked him 48 minutes ago where he was. Do you think he would look at his phone and be like 'Wow, she seems really worried, maybe I should respond back to her?'. No, of course not.
I'm so worried right now I can barely even function.
"Hey hun, still waiting on a message from him?" my sister Maddy said annoyed. Which I don't really blame her. I'm pretty pissed, to say the least right now.
" Of course you know me so well," I said sarcastically.
Maddy walked over to me and sat down on my bed and gave me a hug. She knows about Carl and his drugs and his gangs and how scary he is and the other gangs too. She is two grades above me and Carl and the stories of him and his gang spread like wildfire.
To say the very least. Everyone knows Carl Gallegher.
I just couldn't take it anymore. I had to find out what was going on.
"Hey, Maddy listens I got to go," I told her.
" Wait, where are you going?" she asked.
" I have to find him, even if its the last thing I do." I stood up and pulled an Addidas sweat shirt from my closet and pulled it over my black leggings.
" No, hun, I'm sorry I know you like him a lot, but it's just way too dangerous." she grabbed my arm and pulled me back.
" You don't understand I need to!" I yelled.
I heard footsteps coming from the stairs and someone knocks on my door," Hey are you okay in there sweetie?" My mom said from outside the door.
" Oh, yeah its okay everything is fine!" Maddy said back. "Listen I don't want you to get hurt and don't even think about trying to find some way to get to him. I don't want to tell mom and dad but I will If it means you will be safe. What would happen if you had gotten hurt? Exactly, I won't be letting anything happen to you, do you understand?" she said back to me.
" No, your wrong, I don't understand. I would take a bullet for him anytime if it meant I could see him forever. And I don't like him I love him! You can't take that away from me! This is real."
" you're 15 years old you don't know what love is!" she yelled back.
" Get out," I said all of a sudden calm.
" What?" she said.
" Get out of my room right now I don't need you in my life at the moment if you're not going to support my decisions. I love him and I'm sorry if your too brain dead to see that."
" You know what, whatever do whatever you want to go get yourself killed over some dumb guy that is going to be done with you in less than two weeks, so sorry if that hurt your small delicate feelings but, its the truth and its not my fualt that you can't handle the god damn truth!" she said and stormed out of my room.
So I grabbed my phone and my car keys, so yea I'm almost 16 and I have my permit, but oh well I don't care at the moment and I usually never do. I drove and parked by an ally I know is famous for drug dealing. They call it the 'Hit'. I parked my car and started walking down the ally.
"Carl?" I started yelling. I needed to find him and I needed to do it soon.
I walked around for around a half an hour until it had started raining and it really poured. The whole situation was terrible I started bawling my eyes out and sat down against a wall.
I cried and I cried for what had seemed like an eternity. Until someone had grabbed my arm. I looked up and saw some man that I had never in my life seen before.
"Get up right now before I shoot you." the man said. I dead-ass stopped right there. I stood up stopped crying and went with him because I was not about to die today.
We walked a few blocks over until we got back to the Hit. He shoved me down against a wall and a few other guys gathered around me. They asked me who I was and my age and where I went to school and all of that kind of stuff.
"You seem too like her actually." the guy said.
"Are you Carl's girl?"
"Yes," I said.
" Oh, I see. So this is the reason my number one guy wants out of the business. Well, sweetheart that's not about to happen. You need to be out of his life. And we are here to get rid of you, while your 'man' is out on another run, but don't worry baby doll he will be back to see you soon. Just maybe not alive that is." he sneered and smiled and went back to the other guys as they laughed about the whole situation.
I sat there for an hour. I couldn't call the police because they took my phone. After a while, a car pulled up and Carl stepped out. I started screaming and it all happened so fast. One of the guys pulled out a gun and Carl did too. It was a shooting massacre and I was in the middle of it. Carl shot one of the leaders and grabbed me and we started running.
We only made it so far before I felt a sharp pain in the back of my back and that is when I fell into a world of darkness.

I woke up in a white room on a white bed in a flimsy gown. My back was so sore I could barely stand it. I looked around the room and saw my parents and Maddy sitting all around me.
" Oh, my gosh Ava are you okay?" My parents and Maddy rushed over to me.
" Yeah I'm fine for getting shot in the back if that's what you're asking about," I said and laughed sarcastically.
We talked for a while after that about my condition a blah blah blah.
after a while, they left and Carl walked in.
"Oh my gosh baby I'm so fucking sorry this happened to you it's all my fault." He said with tears streaming down his face.
" No, it was my idea to go looking for you I should not have gone out in the first place." I tried to convince him but it just wasn't working.
" Baby it's done." he said.
" Wait what is?"
" I'm out." he said,"It's done I'm out of the gang the drugs the everything."
" For real?" I asked. This was my dream come true.
" I love you so much, I'd do absolutely anything for you. You're special and different from all of those other girls. You have something that draws me in and I want more and more. I need you Ava, and I need you bad."
He leaned into me and we kissed like it was the last one we would ever share in our life.
I loved him and he loved me. That was all that mattered.
