Chapter One
"Hurry!" a nurse shouted. I walked up and held hands with Annabeth for the last time until she would be in the operation room. My mother was beaming with pride. I smiled too. I wanted to be in there, but I wanted it to be a surprise. Little Eli would soon enter the world.
I sat in a chair, anticipating for the baby to be ready. "Relax, Percy. It'll be alright," my mother comforted. "For a twenty-four year old, you look like you need to go to the bathroom." I tried to 'sweetly' glare at her. She just lightly laughed.
What seemed like a million years later, I finally saw the doctor come out with a thumbs up. The operation was fine. I let out a sigh of relief. "The baby will, though, have to stay a couple of days," the doctor informed us. I nodded. For right now, we have housed ourselves at the Big House. Our house wasn't ready yet. It was almost done, right next to the pavilion. Camp Half-Blood also had other houses around it for Travis and Katie, who now had eight kids (kind of bizarre) and Jason and Piper who had one. Now, ours was an addition to the chain.
Finally, Annabeth was rolled out and wheeled into a pretty tight and cramped room. I followed her and helped place her back in the hospital bed. "Hey," she whispered weakly. I held her hand until they felt clammy against hers.
"How was it?" I asked, my voice full of sympathy.
She groaned. "Painful," her mouth crept into a grin, "but worth it. I also can't feel my legs, and I'm thirsty."
"I'm on it." I went into the hallway and asked a nearby nurse for some ice chips. She quickly went to get it. I went back to the room and sat down on the couch.
"You husbands are always concerned about us," she smiled.
"Yeah," I admitted.
"I'm so happy about Eli. Eli Ray Jackson." I put my hand to my forehead.
"It had to be Ray," I moaned.
"You got to choose the first name, so I choose a name that reminded you of the sea so you wouldn't feel lonely. At least I didn't choose clownfish to be his middle name," she joked.
The nurse then came in with the ice chips. Annabeth took a sip and sighed. "I better rest," she told me. And with that, she went to sleep.

2 hours later, she woke up and frowned. She looked grumpy. She shook of the sleepiness and so did I because Eli was born at two in the morning. She flailed her arms wildly for some reason. It must be from the drug she took to ease her pain. I smiled and brought out my camera. I pressed record.
I said with a fake accent, "June 21. Annabeth is just waking up from her nap. Today, she had Eli Ray Jackson, a healthy baby boy who-"
"What are you doing?" Annabeth asked all stuck-up like. I pointed the camera on her. She frowned.
I whispered in the camera, "Little Mrs. Grumpy Pants just woke up from a nap. She is acting crazy." Annabeth looked at me and her eyes widened. She shook her head.
"Hey," she said weakly. Her weirdness spell was over.
"How are you now?" I asked.
"I'm fine. My legs aren't as numb as they were," she replied. She tried to sit up, and I helped her sit up. "What time is it?"
"5:00 a.m. How about we turn on the TV and watch a show," I suggested.
She shrugged. "Sure." I turned on the TV and clicked it to the Food Network. We watched people making delicious foods and desserts. We oohed and awed over certain things. Annabeth rubbed her stomach, motioning she was hungry.
"You hungry?"
"Yeah. I really want some Carrabas," she replied.
"Carrabas?" I raised an eyebrow. She reached for a notebook and pen. She wrote something down and handed the notebook to me. I read that she wanted calamari, spaghetti and meatballs, and breadsticks. "Um. I think Carrabas opens in twelve hours. That'll be dinner. Do you want anything besides that?"
"Chick-Fil-A," she replied. That was good because we had a Chick-Fil-A in the hospital. I was about to leave when the doctor knocked on the door.
