Chapter Two

The doctor walked in and check a few things. "Your baby is in the NICU. He should be ready to go home tomorrow," he said. Excitement filled the air. I gripped Annabeth's hand and shared a mini happy dance. The doctor grabbed her clipboard and left. I said goodbye and went down to Chick-Fil-A to get her spicy chicken sandwich and waffle fries. I got myself the exact same thing too.

When I got back to the room, Athena and Poseidon surprisingly was there. I almost dropped my food out of my arms. "H-hey," I stammered.

"Hello, Perseus Jackson," Athena said, trying to be polite. I looked at the food and realized I maybe needed to offer them food.

"Did you guys want any food?" I asked.

"No thanks," they said in unison. I sighed then sat on the couch.

"What brings you here?"

"We wouldn't miss seeing you and Annabeth...and of course the new addition," Poseidon replied. Annabeth laughed nervously. I tried to smile. Athena looked very grumpy.

"You know, children, we are missing part of the summer solstice to see this new baby boy, yet we still cannot see him," Athena grumbled. Annabeth's eyes widened.

"You should go then. That's a very vital meeting! Go now. We're fine!" Annabeth urged. Poseidon and Athena shrugged at the same time, and when they figured out they shrugged at the exact same time, they glared at each other. Sigh. Some things never change.

"Goodbye, my boy-- boys," Poseidon said. He then poofed into nothing only leaving the smell of the sea behind. Almost right after Poseidon left, Athena did too.

"That actually wasn't bad," I grinned.

"It was ok. I just hope they won't get in trouble for missing part of the summer solstice meeting."

The next day went by very fast. Annabeth finally got to hold Eli. Argus picked us up from the hospital and studied the baby very closely with his many, many eyes. I shrugged. Eli will be getting a ton of attention. I smiled.

When we got back to Camp Half-Blood, there was a big banner that said, "Welcome back!" We soon got out of the car. And that's when I saw it. There was a huge curtain draped over our new house.

"Surprise, Buddy," Leo slapped me on the back.

"Thanks, man! We're so happy to be back!" I replied. Leo walked away for a minute. Chiron soon galloped up to us and immediately asked to hold Eli. Annabeth of course let him. Leo came back, and rubbed his hands together. I knew we were about to get our new house! Annabeth got Eli back and cradled him. We walked up to the hidden house. Many of the campers were there. Jason, Piper, Travis, and Katie were up at the front. Katie looked at the baby with love.

"He's so adorable," she complimented. Annabeth grinned. She whispered something into Katie's ear and she nodded, all of a sudden serious. Katie whispered something back. I was about to say something when Leo tapped me on the shoulder and I turned around. Chiron tapped the microphone and cleared his throat. Everyone went quiet.

"I am pleased to announce Percy and Annabeth's new addition to Camp Half-Blood!" Everyone cheered. "I'm sure Eli will have the great and fantastic skills that Percy and Annabeth possess." Annabeth gleamed with pride. So did I. "Now I am proud to announce their new house that was added to the chain with Piper and Jason, and Travis and Katie!" Leo pulled the curtain and the beautiful house appeared. Annabeth gasped. It was perfect. The house was a misty blueish-green. It was perfect.

Of course everyone wanted to go inside. I rushed toward the entrance but was surprised Annabeth wasn't following. Katie and her were talking again! And it didn't look very fun. It looked serious.

"Annabeth?" I called.

"I'll be there in a minute! Go ahead, Seaweed Brain," Annabeth replied.

"You sure?"

"Positive." Annabeth faked a smile at me then immediately went back to her conversation with Katie. What was wrong?

My stomach started to hurt. Annabeth made it seem like nothing but I knew something was terribly wrong.
