The Legend of Ben (A Bendrowned short story) ON HOLD

The river

"Hurry up!!!!" Midori whined as I walked slowly out of school.

"Ok ok SORRY! I'm not as quick as you!" She pulled  my arm and led me across the street to a dense forest in the front of School."Hey! Where are we going?" I smiled and looked around at my surroundings curiously.

" Ok where here!" I saw in Front of me a large lake. I immediately froze in fear. I couldn't swim. I was terrified of any body of water. Even small puddles! I always thought that I would get sucked  to the bottom and....Drown. Midori looked over at me.

"Ah! Ben are you Alright?" She looked over at me. Concerned. I stare at her Wide eyes.

"Um...I'll just s-sit b-back here." I pointed to a tree and trudged slowly over and sat down putting my head in between my knees. I heard a slight rustle. Than footsteps. I felt a presence loom over me. Than felt an arm rap around my shoulders. I looked up at Midoris face. She smiled a SORRY smile.

"Ben. Be completely honest with me. Okay?" She waited for me to respond I nodded my head curiously. "Are you afraid of water?" She said in an even tone and looked me straight in the eyes. I quickly covered my own with my knees not wanting to be engulfed in there HORRIBLE beauty. She waited for an answer I knew I had to give. I didn't want to tell her what happened. No! I can't?!  But I knew I had to find any amount of courage left inside of me since the day I lost her.

"Y-Yes" I stammered I dare not look in those eyes. I waited for a laugh. Or for her to walk away abruptly in disgust. But no. She simply said. "Thanks for telling me this" In an almost in audible whisper. Than hugged me. Not saying a word. Her action said everything. She was a kind person. And would wait. I dunno exactly for what but she would wait.
