I walked pass her again, not caring if people talked, and laughed at how pathetic I was, she made me happy, even though I couldn't do the same for her. Just her presence lightened my day, but his presence took that light away and made my life dark and scary.
"Aaron, get over her."
My best friend Marcus tried to help me get over the constant sadness. Get over the fact that Rosie was in love with Paris and she will never love me. He pulled me aside and set me down on the wet bench. I looked at my reflection through his glasses and my sopping black hair plastered over my face.
I clenched my teeth when I saw Rosie and Paris in the reflection also, but before I said anything, his glasses fogged up and their reflection was gone.
"Marcus...I can't...bare life without her."
"Aaron...-" I hated when he used my full name. "-You have lived without her for 15 years...you can make it."
"I don't know." I said looking down at my hands.
I looked up, thinking he would be looking at me with dis-belief, but instead, he was looking down the street at our rival school, he had the evil glint in his eye that made me fear his thoughts.
"Marcus...what are you staring at?"
"Aaron...we are going to crash Deter High School's Prom this year."
From that, I knew that this was going to take a bad turn. He pulled me up from the bench and dragged me to my locker which was conveniently beside his. As we un-packed our bags and took out our books for first period, he explained his plan to me.
"So, we are going to go to their party, find a hot babe, because none of these girls look good in uniform..."
"Rosie does." I mumbled.
"But Rosie don't want you..."
I sighed and rolled my eyes at the blunt truth.
"So lets say I don't find any one...what if the only soul that can satisfy my heart is Rosie?" I questioned, sounding like a loser.
"Then you're on your own." He said. My eyes widened. He was my best friend and he would just ditch me if I couldn't find any one?
"Kidding!" He said, trying to make me feel better. Though I knew that he was getting sick of my sadness, he was still all I had, we were like brothers.

The day dragged on, seeing Rosie pass by every period. Her only class with me seemed to speed up though.
I sat at the bus stop, but when I heard Marcus' voice, I knew I was going to have to deal with him and his crazy idea to heal my broken heart.
"I had an idea, since the prom is tonight, and it is a mascarade, we probably wont be able to get some nice tux's, but we can get some black suits and a tie. My dad owns a costume shop and we can get some masks there."
Something in me actually made me consider this. I could be happy, maybe even make someone else happy too. I nodded and as the bus came, he explained the plan to me.
"So, what size are you?"
"Why do you want to know?"
"Well do you want to find a suit for yourself?"
"Oh...well I don't even know."
"Well I guess we will have to go hunting." He said smiling. The bus came to a stop at our stop and as we got off I gave him a weird look.
"What?" He said, actually surprised.
"You spend way too much time shopping with your mom..."
"What do you expect me to do, I have no brothers and my dad is never home."
"Dude...come live at my house." I said.
We stayed silent, watching the girls soccer team as we passed by my step sister's school. I really had no intrest in watching them, I was only here because Marcus was here. After a while, the girls went inside and we continued on our walk home.
"Marcus, I don't know what I am going to do...I just don't think I can feel that way about someone again."
"You know what man, just stay home, I will get everything set up and then, I will bring the clothes and whatever to you. We can get dressed then go."
He turned around and walked in the direction of his house and i walked onward to my own.
