6: New Life

Max's POV

I hear the door open, my sister is back from wherever she went. She never tells me in case I go snitching on her. I hear a hoot, cue my mother yelling at the top of her lungs.

"WHAT THE BLOODY HELL IS THAT BIRD DOING IN THIS HOUSE?!?-"

After that I just drown out her voice, though I do hear some things like, 'disgrace to the family', 'foul folk you associate with' and lastly 'GET OUT'. I wasn't expecting that, but i was expecting the reply even less.

"I WILL BE LEAVING, I'LL OWL SOME FRIENDS, I'M GOING TO FIND SHELTER WITH THEM. I AM OUT OF THIS HOUSE!!!"

I then hear Alex march to her room and slam the door. Alex had threatened to leave before, but I feel like this time she won't be coming back. Did she say though that she was going to owl her friends. Of course, the wizarding world, the Marauders are her friends.

Alex's POV

'I'm actually going to do this,' I think while writing a letter to James.

James,
I need you to apparate to my house as soon as possible. I'm running away from my home, I'll find something soon after you pick me up. I just need to get away from here.

I send the letter of with Shadow and minutes later I get a reply.

Alex,
You are sixteen! You are not to find your own apartment. You are going to stay at Potter Manor. I'll be there soon, quickly pack everything you want to take with you in this bag. It has an undetectable extension charm on it.

James

I quickly throw all my possessions in the bag, put my new wand in my boot and shut shadow in her cage. I go to Max's room and say goodbye. I walk into the hallway and call out, "Bye mom, let me just make it clear, I will not miss you. Now, my friend is waiting outside for me so, see ya later suckers."

I walk out of the house and quickly spot James. He grins at me and comments, "I see your pulling a Padfoot."

"I guess, but my mother didn't disow-"

As i say that the front door bursts open, my mom goes up to me and shouts, "by the way- YOU'RE DISOWNED! I hope to never see you again," and stalks back into the house.

"Never mind my earlier statement, I am disowned. Now I want to get out of this place."

"Okay, hold on tight."

I grab hold of James' arm and we disaperate.

"That was absolutely horrid! It's been described in the books, but nothing could prepare me for that!"

We walk up to Potter Manor. Mrs. Potter opens the door.

"Hello mrs. Potter, my name is Alex Myeren. I'm assuming James explained my situation before he left to get me."

"Indeed Alex, I heard you ran away. I'd be more than happy to offer you shelter, after all you are only sixteen. Sirius is out back."

"Okay mum," James responds.

We walk outside and quickly spot Sirius tinkering away on a motorbike. I decide to try and startle him. I motion for James to be quiet.

"Seems the Potters are now housing two disowned children."

"Ahh, jesus Alex! You got disowned?!?"

"Indeed. I got home, shadow decides to hoot at that exact moment. My mother runs in and starts shouting about me, and I quote, being a disgrace to the family, the foul folk I associate with, my owl, and finally she just tells to GET OUT. I decide I'm going to do just that and owl James to ask him to pick me up so I can try to find an apartment. James being James, tells me since I'm sixteen I can't and insist I stay here. I get all my stuff together and go to James, who is waiting infront of my house. We talk for five seconds until my demented mother bursts out of the front door and declares that I am disowned, me and James disaperate and now I'm here."

"I'm sorry about that Alex," Sirius says.

"Don't be, I've been planning to run away ever since I was thirteen. I've ran away before, but it would usually only be for five days top. Now it's permanent. I don't have a guardian at the moment. I am my own guardian!"

Mrs. Potter calls us inside. Once we are inside there is a surprise for me, Albus Dumbledore is here to see me.

"Albus Dumbledore, it is a pleasure to meet you."

"As it is you, Alex Myeren," I cringe at my last name, "I am aware you have recently discovered you have magical abilities," I nod, "You bought a wand from Olivander and know its background story." This time I give him a full answer.

"Indeed, the Phoenix feather that makes up its core comes from your own Phoenix, Fawkes. Fawkes gave mr. Olivander two feathers and the other is concealed within a very specific wand, one that has done many horrible things. The wand that belongs to Voldemort himself. The wands contain twin cores. I also believe that can therefore not kill each others masters. There is therefore a possibility that as long as I have my wand out Voldemort can inflict no serious harm upon me."

"Very well put ms. Myeren, may I ask how you know this."

"I'm very sorry mrs. Potter, James and Sirius but considering this is very sensitive information I'm going to have to ask you to leave the room." They walk out and I quickly cast a silencing charm on the door.

"Sorry for just preforming under aged magic but if I know enough about James and Sirius they'd both be listening at the door right now," Dumbledore has an amused twinkle in. His eyes, "If you'll excuse me for two seconds professor."

I walk to the door and open it. James and Sirius topple in as they had been trying to listen at the door.

"There was no use in standing against the door trying to listen to this conversation since I cast the silencing charm: muffiliato."

James looks at me shocked, "You haven't had any magical education but you can pull of using underaged magic infront of the headmaster of Hogwarts. How do you even know that spell?"

"It's mentioned in the books. The spell was created by Severus Snape, so was levicorpus. In fifth year you used his own spell against him. Yes, I know about that horrible incident that ended Severus and Lily's friendship. I know more than you think. Now get out while I discuss some things with professor Dumbledore."

They leave the room absolutely flabbergasted. I close the door and cast the charm again just in case.

"Once again, sorry about the underaged magic. It's so funny being able to blackmail them with things that happened in the past, that they think I don't know about."

Dumbledore chuckles and then says, "You said something about a book."

"Indeed, seven actually."
