Alex's POV

Eileen proceeds to call over Severus and introduces us to each other.

"Severus, this is your cousin Alex, she is my sister's daughter. You will have see her around this past year," Eileen tells her son.

"Right the new girl hanging around with Potter's group," Severus mumbles.

I ask to briefly speak with Severus in private. Though he is suspicious, he agrees and allows me to lead him to a hidden alcove.

"Severus, I can help you get away from the madman. Within a year from now you will overhear a prophecy that will lead your master to attacking Lily and her infant child. I can help prevent this, but only if you help me!" I beg Severus, "how I know this is irrelevant, just please tell me what he is planning."

Severus finally gives a response after a few moments contemplation. "Fine, but only for Lily. You being my cousin doesn't count for  anything in my books. The Dark Lord is planning to crash the graduation tonight. Don't mention that I'm the one who told you."

"Of course I won't, thank you. Let's make sure nothing truly bad happens," I respond.

We rejoin everyone just in time for the ceremony. Dumbledore calls the Head boy and Girl to give their speeches, Lily starts.

"In the past seven years I have grown immensely as a person. I've made new stronger friendships and broken petty old ones. Cut ties with one family and have been welcomed into a new one. I came in as the muggleborn imposter who had no clue about this world, but am leaving as a full grown witch graduating top of her class. During my time her I have met many people determined to fight for their vision of this this society. For some of you this might be the last time I see you alive, but despite all our differences I wish everyone the best."

Now it was James' turn to speak, I am curious as too what he has cooked up, considering he is not known for his speeches.

"I would first like to do something I have been planning for quite a while now.," as James says that he gets down on one knee in front of Lily and the entire Great Hall, while pulling a ring box out of his robes. "Lily you know I'm no good with speeches, so I hope you can forgive me for keeping this short. My dear Lilyflower, will you marry me?"

As I had already expected Lily simply tells him 'yes' and kisses him while he slides the ring on her finger.

James then proceeds with his speech, "in my opinion my fiancé has already said it all, Hogwarts has been my life the last seven years, in those years I have not only gained friends, but also a Sister, a Brother and a Fiancé. Stay safe out there!"

Just as James finishes his last sentence the doors to the great hall burst open and in strides Voldemort with a selection of his Death Eaters. I know now is my time to shine. Voldemort starts his monologue, something about finally having gotten into the stronghold of Dumbledore's power, how he would hate to spill magical blood and how far Hogwarts has fallen. I zone out for a large part of his speech just preparing myself for what I am about to do.

I draw my wand and stand up out of my seat. I had long ago decided that when the time came I would be the one to stand before him. I decided that Harry didn't deserve this and the preservation of the time line was no longer important.

"Hey, Tommy-boy!" I call out, "how about you and I finish this, just as fate dictated."

Voldemort laughs but agrees, so just like in the battle of Hogwarts Voldemort calls his followers to stand down and we stand across from each other. While Voldemort calls out the killing curse, I allow my wand to deflect it back at him. With that he falls backwards, dead, in a heap. I know that the horecruxes will still have to be destroyed, but for now he is dead. Everyone looks at me in shock while stand there, determined still.
