The Sixth Reason

December 5, Thursday

Loria City, United Kingdom

"And I'll send all my loving, to you," Skye and I end the song in sync and everyone claps for us.

"Go Skyerimiah!" Alice shouts. I glance at Skye and see her blush all of a sudden. Here we go again.

"That is our last song for tonight!" I say. Everyone gave off awes but we just smiled at them apologetically.

After what happened yesterday, after we sang the song All My Loving on stage, she had to go. What makes me sad even more is that it's like she wants to cry after she received a phone call. I guess she was told to go home since she was frantically whispering that her mom was going to kill her. I offered to bring her home yesterday but she just showed me a sad smile and told me it's okay. She took a cab and of course, Kaedee and Alice went with her, with the same sad smiles on their face.

In school, I tried to ask her but she seemed to dodge the question quickly so I didn't bother her anymore instead.

After school, I told her that I had practice for the contest and she told me it's okay since she's got something to do. She just told me that she's going to text me.

After receiving the text that I'll wait at the tea shop we usually go to, I went there quickly.

I am now situated in a comfy chair at Cake Got Your Tongue, eating a carrot cupcake all alone. Apparently Skye's too busy and she told me that she'll try to catch up. Though it's already been two hours since she messaged me and I am having doubts already.

So after finishing my cupcake, I stand up and leave the tea shop feeling angry but mostly sad. Yes, Jeremiah feels sad right now. This is the first time I've been ditched.

I head to my car but stop when my phone rings, I check who it is and see that it's Skye. She calls after two hours, wow. The anger in me started to boil. She told me that she was going to meet me. I just waited for nothing. I can't even believe that I am getting so worked up with this girl.

I answer the phone saying, "You ditched me." I hear her chuckle on the other line.

"Sorry Jeremiah, it's just that I've been busy with Literature and everything, you know that the newspaper's going to be published next week Monday," she replies.

"Then next time be clear if you can meet me or not, okay?" I say bitterly.

"Well I'm so sorry Mr. Lewis but please do turn around," She says before hanging up. I turn around and see her standing quite far behind me. A smile is visible in her lips and her curly hair is wild as usual. I scrunch my eyebrows at her. I'm furious and then she smiles?

I don't say anything. Instead, I turn around and head to my car.

"Jeremiah!" She calls out. I don't bother to look back. It's irritating how much I want to know why she likes me. At first I thought of it as something to make fun of but as each day pass I can't help but want to discover more.

"Jeremiah!" She calls out again, I could hear her foot steps on the gravel.

I feel shocked as arms hug me from behind.

"I'm sorry," she mutters against my coat. She tightens her hug.

"I'm so so sorry," she repeats over and over.

I sigh. Why does she have this effect on me. She seems so fragile that I couldn't handle to see her like this.

I remove her grip from my waist and turn around to face her.
