CHAPTER 1

The Blood bath

Hi my name is Leah hawks and I'm going to tell u how I became a vampire.

It was the 1st of December 2009 I was 14 years old. I had only just moved to river stone with my mum my dad and my little sister.

We had bought this little cottage on the outskirts of town because my parents think that in the city there's too much technology and that a child should grow up with the better influences one from fresh air and hearty meals. It was all ways his favourite lecture but I never thought that he'd actually move.

we got settled in quite quickly into the country it started to take less time to get to the shop in the middle of town little things like that. But no matter what New York will ALWAYS be my home.

One day my family and I were eating breakfast and watching the news on TV we were the only one in town who had a TV so we didn't watch it allot just to watch the new every now and again.

We where watching the news it was the local news not the one we watched all the time back in New York.

The top stories where about : there was no gas left in town , the shops are closing down and a section called THE BLOOD BATH my parents decided to watch the one about the shops closing so I went on my computer and Goggled the blood bath and click on the first link.

The blood bath happens in river stone every 5 years it's the treating that keeps humans everywhere else in the world alive the vampires aren't allowed to feast at any other time and there not allowed to feed anywhere else but river stone. Trust my family to move to the only place in America and the entire world that is infested by vampires.

There was a knock at my door. "come in" I shouted my dad slowly peeked round the door to see what I was doing.

"What you doing Leah "he said in a curious tone"

I showed him the computer and his expression darkened.

"I know what happens in this town every 5 year I lived here for 10 years " he said "and I lost 5 of my best friends when I was your age but we will be fine we will stick together we will all help each other and we most definitely will not tell your mother"

I nodded despite I was scared out of my socks but not of the vamps of my mother when she found out about this my dad was going to be toast and so would I for not telling her the second I found out . I read some more of the newspaper and said "but dad the blood bath is tonight," he shot me a worried look and said "I know"

that night me and my family all slept on an air mattress in the basement I tried to sleep but I couldn't there was a scream every 5 minutes and I couldn't tell if the screaming was outside or in my head .

I finally got to sleep at 2:30 AM and was woken up by my sister at 7:49 by my little sister her blue tired eyes sparkled in the sun light. We woke up our parents and we all went up stairs.

My dad did a full inspection of the house before he let anyone go up stairs as soon as I got up stairs I found a mirror and began checking myself for bite marks. When I was completely satisfied that I had checked every inch of my body for bite marks I went into the kitchen and ate breakfast.

Then the news came on the reporter said the blood bath has been extended for 2 days my dad look worried no wait he looked scared he looked at my mother as if to say I need to tell you something. And my mum sighed and walked out of the room my dad trailing behind her a couple mints went by before we here'd a YOU DID WHAT and a smash or to. they returned to the kitchen my dad look more frightened than ever he looked like he would rather be killed by a vampire than have to face the rather of mum but to be honest so would I. I got dressed for school and got in the car my dad said he'd give me a ride to school it would give mum some tome to charm down. As me and dad opened the garage door his face looked horrified. All the people who lived near us where laying dead on our front porch my dad got in the car and drove of being careful not to hit any dead bodies.
