I woke up in my bed in the cabin. I didn’t see Zane anywhere and I started to think about what happened the day before. The car ride home was a bit awkward, he didn’t talk much. Just stared ahead of him. I was only left with what if questions. Was I getting mixed signals or what? He’s being weird.

I decided to get out of bed and get ready. I grabbed a fresh pair of clothes that was laid out on my nightstand. It was a cute light pink sweater and light washed jeans with matching pink fuzzy socks. I yawned and made my way towards the bathroom. Sleeping with water on your skin doesn’t feel good. As I opened the door I slammed into a hot sticky chest. I looked up and Zane was staring wide eyed at me.

"Oh why hello there." He said a little bit surprised. "Uh hi." I responded with a not to pleasant voice crack. He laughed and then turned to I was inside the bathroom and he was on the outside. He snatched his clothes from the counter, "Bathroom is all yours my dear." I blinked, "Kay thanks."

Was he just going to pretend like yesterday never happened? This was extremely frustrating. I threw my clothes on the ground and took off my jim jams then hopped into the shower. He had so many hair care products in this shower I thought I was going to be swallowed whole in this shower, but I guess he needs them since he seems to dye his hair a lot. There was one bottle that was a gold color it smelled like strawberries. I picked it up and began to lather it in my hair as the sent filled she shower. Strawberries were always my favorite fruit; nothing could beat them in my eyes.

After I finished my shower I hopped out and realized I didn’t have a towel. “Crap...” I whispered to myself. I walked over to the door dripping wet and poked my head out. There was no sign of Zane anywhere when I needed him. “Zane!” I yelled hoping to get his attention. There was nothing so I yelled again, “Zane! I need you!” That’s when I heard the bowl land on the counter and he came walking in with a spoon full of cereal in his mouth.

He looked me up and down, which was my head and the door, and blinked a couple times, “Yes?”

“I need a towel.” I stared at him as he swallowed and nodded as he walked over to the cupboard next to the door and pulled out a fresh white towel.

“Here ya go.” He handed it over to me with a smile. As I grabbed it I could feel its warm fuzzy texture. It felt like a brand new blanket that you couldn’t wait to hop into.

“Thank you~” I sank slightly as I closed the door and wrapped it around me. By that time the steam had let out a bit and the mirror was to the point where I could see most of myself. I stared at myself for a while then sighed, all I could see was things I wanted to fix but hey I’m a girl it’s what I do. I opened up drawers until I found a golden brush. I began to brush through my hair thinking about how I wasn’t going to be able to blow dry it and then I saw the dryer handing off the side of the counter still plugged in. I rolled my eyes and pulled it up onto the counter. I got dressed and then brushed through my hair once more before I started to blow dry it. My hair always gained lots of volume when I didn’t let it dry naturally. Once I finished I applied some light eye shadow and liquid liner on the top along with necessary mascara. I was now ready to go. I flipped my head over and put my hair in a messy bun then grabbed my dirty clothes and walked out. Zane was on the bed throwing a ball up and down. He looked like he had something on his mind. “You alright there?”

He looked over at me and that when the ball came crashing down on his face. His eyes went wide as he stared at me in shock for a second then sat up and held his cheek. “Owww.”

I laughed and put my clothes in a pile on the floor was I walked over and sat next to him, “You should take your eye off the ball mister!” I said teasing him as I placed a cold water bottle that was on the night stand on his cheek.

He winced slightly and then did that goofy smile I loved so much, “Sure thing coach!”

I smiled back, “So what are we going to do today?” I asked with curiosity.

He looked to the side then back at me, “I am going to take you out for a night on the town and then make you mine.” He winked and I blushed just staring at him unsure of what to say, “You will see my little strawberry.” There is was a nickname.

As we left I couldn’t help but wonder why I had to change into this little aqua dress with heels even though it was snowing. Zane was dressed in a sports jacket with slacks and an open collared shirt. If I didn’t know any better I would say we are going to a prom. He grabbed my hand as we hopped into his car, “Zane where are we going. Please tell meee!” I whined.

He laughed and poked my side which made me flinch a little, “You will see! Trust me you will like it.”

I stared out the window as we drove in silence until he popped on his iPod and jessy's girl started to play. I stared at him and laughed, “I love this song. How did you know?”

“Cause I love it to.” He smiled and tapped to the beat on his steering wheel.

We soon arrived at a fancy restaurant. It had valet parking and everything. We got out of the car and gave the keys for the boy to park. He looked a little frantic seeing as this place was busy tonight and I didn’t see anyone else to help him. But he somehow kept a smile on his face.

We walked in and once again he was greeted as if he lived here, “Ah Zane, your table is waiting.” He motioned to a booth in the back and Zane nodded. He grabbed my hand and led me to the table and motioned for me to sit. I sat down and looked at the set up before me. It was a white table cloth with gold napkins folded into swans on top of a freshly washed plate with forks and knives placed in what I guess what the right way. I never cared to learn that much in table manners.

“So Zane, How many places can you just waltz into and no one cares?” I said with a laugh.

“Hmm...A lot. I know a lot of people.” He smiled and motioned for me to get anything wanted.

We both got our salads and laughed about little stories from out childhood until the main course came. He got a steak and I got pasta, it was quite good if I might add. He said no to dessert which I thought was weird because he has so many sweets in his cabin.

“I’m going to take you to my favorite place for dessert.” He placed the money in the little black book and handed it to the waiter as we strolled out of the restaurant and back into his car.  We drove again but this time with Africa by Toto playing. We both sang along and laughed as we exaggerated the consonants. He turned off the music as we pulled up to an old little ice cream shop. The wood was a faded white and starting to peel. He giggled, “Come on you will love it.”

I got out and carefully got onto the side walk. These heels were pretty tall and the ground seemed unstable. He wrapped his arm undermine as we walked in. An old lady was sitting down in a chair behind the register, “Mary! I’m glad to see you again.”

She looked up from her glasses and smiled, “Zane what brings you here? Who is this?” She looked at me and waved.

“This is Celina. She is very special to me. I was wondering if you could make us some of your famous Sundays with the cake in it. Pretty pleeeaase with a cherry on top!” He sounded just like a little kid, I couldn’t help but smile.

“Of course dear you both take a seat.” She left whistling some jazz song as we sat down.

“She’s so sweet.” I said looking into Zane’s eyes.

“She really is. She is an old family friend. Mary has been taking care of me ever since I was little, I came here every day. I try to come as much as I can now but it’s hard.” He looked a bit sad but then shook it off as Mary came walking in with the Sundays.

“Here you go kids!” She placed them down in front of up. I swear there must have been every flavor of ice cream in here and big chunks of cake. She placed a hand on my shoulder and looked at me, “I’m glad Zane found a girl like you, you seem very nice.” She smiled and then walked back behind the counter to her seat.

I was a bit shocked that she had called me his girl. I mean I wasn’t exactly yet, I hoped I was but I don’t know what will happen. “You know that’s why I brought you here. I like you too, I’m sorry for not reacting to it when you kissed me. But I wanted to make this perfect. Will you spend the next chapter in life with me?”
