Chapter 11: You Again

Weeks have passed since the incident with Mr. Lee.

We did the remaking of the pudding together and actually, it tasted so good that Mr. Lee gave us reconsideration of A++! Oh yeah!

We’ve been having lessons and such. And now, it’s time for the written exam.

“My head is going to pop from all that studying! I can’t believe we’ll be having an exam on what flavour reflects what attitude.” Desiree said while rubbing her head.

“That lesson is very dizzying actually.” I said while walking with her to the library.

We don’t always go to the library actually. Our normal hangout is with Drew and Blake at the school garden. It’s very peaceful there and Drew said that’s where the girls will least find him and Blake and they were right.

But this time, Drew and Blake went to their room to study and we’ll be in the library.

“Alone studying again?” I asked Desiree once we got in the library.

She chuckled.

“Yeah, that’d be a yes.” I smiled and waved a goodbye and found a seat.

I sat down and started with my textbooks.

Chocolate flavour for happiness

Strawberry mix with chocolate is equals to love

Mint for an electric feeling

Blueberry for a unique feeling

Green tea for old people who likes to have a little bit of fun

BLAH BLAH BLAH

Okay, I’m getting sleepy. I think I should walk around for a while then come back a few minutes later.

I walked through the sections of the library. French Recipes, Herbal Desserts, Chocolate Supreme Recipes, History of Desserts, New Recipes and etc.

I went in the New Recipes and when I took the book out, I saw a face browsing at the books too.

“Mace?” I called.

“Oh hey, Lauren right?” He leaned in the shelves more to see me clearly.

“Yeah.” I leaned a bit closer.

Our faces were a bit near but not too much.

“So, I see we meet again in the library.” Mace smiled.

“Yeah. You like going here.” I said.

“A bit. It’s pretty peaceful.” Mace chuckled.

His laugh sounds so melodic. Unlike Chace’s but WAIT! Does that guy even laugh?! Nah, don’t think so.

“I came here to study and here I am talking to you.” I raised my eyebrow.

“Do you think I came here to look at a beautiful girl right in front of me?” He smiled showing off his pearly whites.

That made my heart skip a beat I don’t know why. I mean, I used to really despise men. Whenever they sweet talk you or something, I would immediately turn my back from them and walk away ignoring them. But this time, it’s making me blush like crazy. It’s making me want to fall in love or what! But no! I don’t want to. Not ever again until I become the best pastry chef in the world!

“Uh..oh..um, sorry, I have to go!” I said running away.

“He-hey! Lauren! Wait!” Mace said catching me from the other side.

I decided to run up the second floor. He won’t catch me then.

I ran up.

Once I reached upstairs, I hid behind some stacks of books.

“What are you doing there?” His voice was deep, cold.

Who else would that be?

“Chace.” I said in relief.

He was right in front of me holding a book and he was seating on the floor like a kid, legs crossed to each other.

“Whatever.” He said coldly.

I ignored him then suddenly,

“There you are Lauren!” Mace said in exhaustion.

I was going to stand again when suddenly Mace grabbed me by the arm.

“I’m sorry for a while ago. I didn’t mean to irritate you with that.” Mace said exhaling his breathes.

I looked at him and he’s head was bowed.

He really is sorry.

“It’s okay.” I smiled.

“Really?” Mace smiled.

“Yeah.” I smiled again. He’s so cute!

Suddenly, Chace caught our attention by coughing.

“So, are you two going to keep on disturbing me?” Chace said.

“Why, hello cousin.” Mace said motioning to him.

“Hi Mace.” He said not even leaving a look from his book.

“Why, so cold to your best cousin in the world?” Mace said.

“Shut up Mace and get loss.” Chace said.

“Why?” He said while messing Chace’s hair.

“Would you just leave me alone?” Chace said in a cold voice.

“Oh fine my-so-very-handsome-cousin.” Mace said leaving Chace and grabbing me.

“You like your cousin?” I asked.

“Yeah, he likes to hide things but once you get to know him, he’s pretty nice.” Mace smiled while drinking his cappuccino.

“Oh.” Was all I could say.

I mean, I really can’t imagine him nice. But..

He did say sorry to me right?

And he was once friends with Drew and the others right?

Should I give him a chance and stop hating him?
