Today was the day. The day Piper was going to die. She sat in the hospital surrounded by her friends and family. Her father was there. Percy and Annabeth was there with their newborn daughter Zoe. They had gotten married shortly after Piper found out. Piper and Jason couldn't attend because she was crying her eyes out. Zoe was just born a week ago. Hazel and Frank were there. Leo and his girlfriend Calypso. Reyna. Coach Hedge Mellie and little Chuck. Will. Nico. Lacy, her little sister. Piper wasn't ready to leave any of them. Annabeth turned to Piper.
"I knew you wanted to hold Zoe. So I brought her."
"Thank you." Piper said as Annabeth placed the little dark haired, gray eyed baby in her hands. As Annabeth took Zoe back, Piper spoke weakly.
"I-I-I.... promise.... t-t-to meet ..... you.. all in .... E-E-Elysium."
They watched as the heart monitor became a line. Annabeth cried. Her sobs racked the room. Percy felt a few tears slip out as her held his wife. Hazel and Frank cried together . Reyna, Nico and Will cried in a quiet group. Coach, Mellie, Little Chuck and her dad all cried together, her father's sobs loudest of the group. Jason was the worst, next to her dad. He held Piper's body in his arms, whispering.
"No. No. Piper. I love you. Come back to me."
Jason felt a hand on his shoulder. Annabeth's.
"You know it's too late now. At least she's in a better place."
Jason nodded and sobbed.
