Stevie was watering her indoor plants when Sara walked through the door. Her normally brunette hair was now an auburn colour. It used to come down to the middle of her back but it had been chopped to just above her shoulders, and it had been curled slightly.
"Oh my god" Stevie said as she gawked at the red head, making Sara blush. She put down her arms full of shopping bags and gave Stevie a twirl.
"Do you like it?"
"I love it!" Stevie said as she wrapped her arms around Sara's waist.
"Well, incase you hadn't noticed, my roots are ginger. And I don't really like the idea of dying my hair lots while I'm carrying a little human so I thought I'd go back to my natural colour to save giving our child chemical poisoning." She laughed and Stevie kissed her.
"It looks really good on you."
"And I wanted to look good for your family" she grinned and Stevie spun her around. "They'll love you no matter what your hair looks like" she kissed her again and placed her hand on the bump.

"I'm guessing that's all baby stuff" Stevie laughed and pointed to the many shopping bags Sara had brought home. She nodded and picked them up, running excitedly up the stairs to the nursery to put everything away.
"We have to be at the airport in three hours!" Stevie shouted up to her before going back to watering her plants.
-----
"Have you got everything?" Stevie asked as she loaded the suitcases into the trunk. Sara nodded and closed the door, locking it with her key.
"What about the passports?" Stevie reminded.
"Shit!" Sara said as she put the key back in the door and ran back inside. Stevie laughed, shaking her head. "Got em!" Sara smiled as she came back out of the house, locking up again and handing them to Stevie.
They got in the car and headed to the airport.

Once they arrived, they checked Stevie's car into the car park and made their way to check in. They checked their bags in, went through customs and sat down in the waiting room to board the plane. Sara leant her head into Stevie's shoulder, she was so tired. Everything was so much harder now she was pregnant.
"We'll be there before you know it" Stevie said softly as she kissed the top of Sara's head.

First class passengers were called and they got up, "come on babe" Stevie said as she took Sara's hand and lead her over to the first class queue. They checked their passports and tickets again and pointed them in the direction of the plane.
Half an hour later and they were in the sky. Sara was so tired, as soon as they took their seats she was asleep, resting up into Stevie.
One of the air hostesses aww'd the sleeping pregnant woman as she walked past and Stevie smiled softly. It wasn't a very long trip, only from LA to Phoenix. The overall flight was an hour and a half and when they landed safely, Stevie woke Sara up.
"We're here babe" she said softly and brushed Sara's ginger hair out of her face.
She yawned and when the seatbelt light turned off they got out of their seats, grabbed their carry ons from the overhead locker and headed in to collect their suitcases.

They walked hand in hand through the airport until Stevie spotted her family. A tall white haired man wearing a shirt and suit pants stood with a smaller woman with short blonde hair, in a red sweater and jeans holding a sign that read 'Nicks'.
Stevie let go of Sara's hand and ran towards her parents, dropping her bags in front of them and wrapping her arms around them both. Sara stopped in her tracks and smiled at the interaction. She carried on walking towards them at a slower pace now, dragging her suitcase along the ground. Stevie said something to them and turned around, extending an arm to Sara. Barbara Nicks held her hand over her mouth and she looked like she was about to cry, Jess Nicks nodded to Sara in approval as she approached.
"Oh it's so nice to meet you!" Barb said as she flung her arms around Sara's neck.
Sara accepted the hug and let go of her suitcase to hug her back. "TeeDee has told me so much about you on the phone" Barbara beamed at Sara and she looked surprised.
"She has?" Barb nodded and Jess extended his hand for her to shake.
"Pleasure" he said and Sara smiled up at him.
"The pleasure is all mine." She said softly and looked over to Stevie who was wearing the biggest smile ever.
"Let me take those for you" Jess offered as he picked up Sara's bags.
"Thank you" she smiled warmly back at him and Barbara linked arms with her as they headed to the car.
"Is that a Tennessee accent I am detecting?" Barbara asked curiously and Sara nodded.
"Yes Ma'am. Memphis, Tennessee."
-----
When they arrived at the Nicks residence it was late.
"TeeDee, we're going to go to bed now honey. There's food in the fridge if either of you are hungry." She kissed her daughter's cheek and pulled her in for an embrace, Sara smiled and Stevie reached her arm out to Sara, motioning for her to join. She walked closer and Stevie pulled her in, Barb kissed Sara's cheek too before pulling away.
"Goodnight, girls. We'll see you tomorrow." She said and followed her husband up the stairs.
Stevie waved at them both as they disappeared before turning to Sara. She placed her hands on her hidden belly and kissed her lovingly.
"Shall we head to bed too?" She asked, looking at how tired her girlfriend was. Sara nodded and took Stevie's hand, following her up the stairs to the room where Jess had already taken their bags.
