i remember what my dad
told me once when I was
younger.
he said: “boy, one day, believe
it or not, you will meet a girl
that will overwhelm your heart
with all the love you cannot ask
for enough, and will warm up
your hands when the streets fluff
with snow. when the thunders rumble
above your head, and you thought
you’d be dead, but she'll hug
your arms instead,”
“boy, you will meet a girl an
age older than you, who is more
wise and more fun than the
person you’ll become, and who
will wake up at two AM.
when you mumble your greatest
fears and she will stare at you
softly until you bit down your tears,”
he smiled: “boy, if you never meet that
girl,
then settle down for a boy.”
