Chapter Five
Kevin
I stared in horror. I couldn't move. "Drop the gun, Kevin. I'll shoot him if you don't." Him grinned psychotically. "Let him go, Yin." I glared. "Put your gun down." He demanded, pressing his gun against Rylas' cheek. "You Bastard." Rylas hissed. "Shut up, you whore!" Yin growled and hit him with his gun upside the head causing him to fall unconsciousness. "Don't even think about moving, Kevin." Yin chortled, pointing his gun down at Rylas. "Let him go..." I glared. "DROP YOUR FUCKING GUN OR I'LL SHOOT THIS BITCH I'M THE HEAD!!" He yelled furiously. I slowly put my gun down on the floor in front of me then kicked it to the side. "Good boy." Yin grinned, "Now, then turn around with your hands up." He commanded. I glanced down at Rylas, then turned slowly raising my hands up. "If you kill me, the others will come for you. Are you seriously trying to start a war?" I stayed, hearing him move behind me. "Oh, once the war actually starts, I'll be very far away with this little slut. He and I are going to have the time of our lives... and you will never see him again." After he finished his sentence, I heard a gun shot then felt pain and light headedness. I dropped to my knees as everything went dark.Rylas
I opened my eyes to the sound of a gun shot, then a body falling to the floor. I blinked and sat up then screamed in horror. "NO!!!" I stared as tears blurred my vision. "Shut up! And let's go!" Yin growled, furiously grabbing my arm and dragging me out of the room. My body went stiff, I couldn't even move, and all I did was sob as I watch Kevin's blood stain the kitchen floor. "No! Kevin!" I cried snapping out of the daze. "You monster!!!" I yelled angrily up at Yin as he dragged me out of the house. "Shut up, Whore!" He hit me with his gun, knocking me out again.
I opened my eyes to the sound of doors slamming. "What the hell?" I held my head as I tried to sit up in the darkness I was in. I held my head then laid down and tried to remember what happened to me and where I was, but the more I tried, the less I remembered. I groaned in annoyence, then sighed heavily. Okey, first things first. Where am I and how do I get out of this? I thought, then tried to stretch out. It's small space: car trunk maybe. It's dark: lights don't work and it's night time outside. I tried feeling around for anything, but then the door opened and I was blinded by lights. "Fuck!" I sheilded my eyes. "Come on, Whore, up and out!" Someone aggressively grabbed my arm and pulled me out. I blinked and looked around me. I couldn't recognize the person holding me captive, nor where I was. "Move." He shoved me towards a bar with people coming in and out casually. It was like this was normal for them to see. No one paid any mind to the man behind me that held a gun to my back. I stubbled forward, then became light headed again. "Move!" He demanded angrily. "J-just give me a moment! For fuck's sake!" I glared over at him and held my head, trying to keep my balance. "Move your ass, Rylas, or I'll put a bullet in you." The man barked. I looked up at him, then down at the gun, then over at the door to the bar. I hesitated, but continued into the bar. "This way." The man pulled me by the arm to a far corner where a group of men and women drank happily. "Where's Ling?" The man holding my arm questioned the group harshly. "In the back, Doll. I'll show you to him." A woman wearing a revealing, tight, red dress smiled, looking me up and down then walking towards the back room. We followed behind her to a room in the back that was barely lit with low lights and candles. A tattooed man sat in a large chair with a woman in his lap. "Finally." The man glared. "What took so long for you to do your damn job, Yin?" "My apologies, Sir. There were some difficulties." My captor pushed me forward. "Good to finally meet you, Rylas. I do hope that idiot wasn't too ruff with you." The man pushed the woman off his lap, then stood up and walked up to me calmly. "W-what's all this about?" I glared, my memories failing me again. "Who are you people?" He squinted his eyes at me then looked over at my captor. "What did you do? Hit him over the head?" He glared at my captor. "I had to knock him out." My captor shrugged. "Well, good job. Looks like he doesn't have any memory of who we are." The man sighs heavily and ran a hand through his hair. "What are you..." I blinked, then shook my head. "This is ridiculous. Is this some sort of sick prank?" I crossed my arms angrily. "Why don't you come with me, and I'll explain what's going on?" The man smiled calmly extending his hand. "Like hell I will." I stepped away from him. "Fine, I wanted to do this the nice way, but you want to do this the hard way." He sighed, then snapped his fingers. Two large men came and grabbed my arms from each side, then began dragging me out of the room. "No! Wait! Hey, stop this! Let me go!" I struggled to fight against them, but in the end I was dragged out and down some stairs into a basement. "Please, wait!" I yelled as they effortlessly tossed me into a room then locked the door behind me. "No!" I banged on the door with my fist. "Let me out!" I screamed slidding down the door. "Please. Let me go." I begged.
Hours passed by, it was nothing, but silence on the other side of the door. The room I was in, it was cold and damp. It had concrete walls and floors with nothing in it, not even windows, but a dim light hanging from the ceiling. I moved to the corner of the room away from the door. I sighed for the millionth time as I tried to remember why I was here and where it was... who were those men and what do they want with me. My stomach growled at me. "God, what the hell is happening?" I leaned my head back against the wall. Suddenly, there was a loud commotion outside and the door began to open. I stood to my feet and backed up against the wall as much as I could. A tall man stepped into the room. He had blonde hair and blue green eyes hidden behind a pair of glasses... his suit was stained with blood, but he was oddly familiar. "Do you recognize me, Rylas?" He questioned with a guilty time. "No..." I shook my head. "Then they weren't lying." He muttered to himself, then sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "Come on. We don't have a lot of time before they realize I tricked them and killed their men. We need to leave." He stated, calmly walking towards me. "What? No! Back off!" I yelled, trying to disappear into the wall behind me. "Please, Rylas, I'm trying to help you. You know me. My name is Adrian. I'm a friend. I swear, I'm trying to get you out of here, but you need to listen." He pleaded calmly. "Please, we don't have a lot of time." He frowned, holding out his hand. "Ok... fine." I hesitated, but grabbed his hand. "Follow me." He pulled me along as he hastily left the basement. Dead bodies lined the stairwell up. I followed behind him silently and wished for the nightmare to be over. We made it out of the bar without being caught, then go into a black car, and he immediately started the vehicle and took off down the road. "Okey, what's the last thing you remember?" He questioned, glancing over at me for a moment, then back at the road. "Uh, I went to bed after work..." I paused, but couldn't remember anything after that. "Okey... what's the last date you remember?" He questioned, taking a quick turn. "Uh, June 10th, 2019..." I furrowed my brows at him. "Rylas," he sighed, then stopped at red light. "Today is September 1st, 2028." He frowned over at me. "What?" I blinked. "No... that can't be right." I shook my head. "I'm sorry, Rylas, but you got hit in the head really hard when those guys back there took you. You must of lost some of your memories." He stated, as he continued driving. "That's why... every since I woke up, I've been having trouble remembering things." I held my head. "I can't believe this..." I sighed heavily. "This is crazy." I muttered. "I know it doesn't sound right, but it's the truth." He glanced over at me. "Gosh." I sighed again. "Try to relax, Rylas... try to rest." He grabbed my hand gently. "How can I rest of I barely remember what the he'll is happening?" I groaned. "Just try. We have a long drive ahead of us." He stated, gently bringing my hand to his lips and kissing my knuckles. "Fine... but... can I have something to eat first? I'm starving and I have no idea when it was the last time I ate something." I frowned over at him. He chuckled lightly, then smirked, "Sure. Anything you want." He smiled slightly. It was a calming smile that felt so foreign yet dangerously familiar. After going through a drive thro and getting food, we got back on the road to wherever it was we were headed. I drifted off to sleep and memories flashed through my dreams... trust, betrayal, love.
I opened my eyes and looked around. The driver seat was empty and I was in the car alone... in the middle of a forest. "Adrian..." I looked around outside the window. I untucked and stepped out of the car. It was dark out, but there was a cabin with lights on and the door open in front of the car. "Adrian!" I called out. "In here!" His voice sounded from inside the cabin. I closed the door to the car, then walked into the cabin. "Hey, sorry. I would have woken you up, but I wanted to see if everything still worked." He stated, walking around the corner with clean clothes on amd his sleeves rolled up to his elbows. "Oh, okey." I looked around. "You can close the door. We don't want anymore bugs getting in." He smirked slightly then walked back into the kitchen. "Right..." I closed the door, then followed after him. "Hey, uh, Adrian..." I hesitated. "Yes?" He raised a brow as he began putting newly bought food in the fridge. "While I was... sleeping," I paused and sat at the table. "I started remembering things." I looked down at the table and dreaded to ask. "Okey. How much do you remember?" He frowned and closed the fridge. "A lot of things..." I hesitated again. "That's good. Um, so you understand what's happening?" He questioned. I nodded and stated at the table, then looked up at him in tears, "Please tell me Kevin is okey?" I begged. "Rylas..." he sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "Please, tell me." I cried. "Kevin is alive." He stated, looking up at me with sorry eyes. "But his condition is undetermined." He added. I let out a shaky sigh and closed my eyes, "So," i paused and whipped the tear off my face. "Where exactly are we?" I looked around the room. "It's a safe house. We haven't used it in a few years so no one really knows about it." He explained. "We'll be staying here until Garth sorta things out." He stated standing up. "Oh, just the two of us?" I raised a brow. "For the time being, yes. Until things cool down, we need to stay out of sight. That means we'll be here for a while." He explained as he pulled bottles of water out of the fridge and put one down in front of me. "Yay." I mumbled and slouch in the chair. "You hate me again or something?" He raised a brow at me. "What? No! I'm just not too excited about being stuck in a cabin until who knows when..." I stated, putting my hands up in defense. "Well, I'm not too excited either, but better safe then dead." He sighed, opening the bottle and taking a drink. "I have a question..." I paused. "Shoot." He walked over to the fridge and pulled out some food. "If I didn't remember anything, what exactly were you planning to tell me about what's going on?" I raised a curious brow. "The truth." He replied plainly. "Oh... okey." I nodded slightly.Kevin
I woke up in panic, I couldn't breath, and my chest felt like it was on fire. I heard repid beeping sound and people yelling and shouting. "He's walking up. Hey, Kevin, hang in there, Man!" Logan's voice sounded in my ear. "R-Rylas, is he?" I stuttered out gasping. "Don't worry. He's safe. Adrian got him out. They're safe, just try to breath and relx." Markas kept me from sitting up as doctors and nurses came into view. "Everything's going to be okey." Markas assured as I slipped back into darkness.
