This isn't right. I shouldn't be doing this. But my family needs money right now and this stuff sells for so much. I have to do this. But what happens if I get caught? Goodbye to my friends, goodbye to any potential scholarships, goodbye to literally everything. I won't get caught. I've done this once before and nothing bad happened. And what if the person buying rats me out? I could get a good fifty bucks out of this though, thats enough to buy groceries for an entire week if I spend it properly. Mom would be so happy with me. And too be fair, my job at the local gas station doesn't give enough, and neither does my second job at a different gas station
"Alexander?" I heard my name being called by someone with a deep, low toned voice. My shaking continues as my body followed the voice, my body turning to him.
"That's me. You're Eric?" I ask. The guys shakes his head, waving me towards. I walk over to him nervously.
"You got it?" He asks. I looked down at my pocket to see the lump from where the bag of cocaine was. I shakily nod. He whips out a fifty dollar bill. "Let's do this quick," He says. I take out the bag of the white drug slowly, my hand trembling as I lifted it up. He handed the bill towards me, and my empty hand grabbed it. He reached for the bag, but I subconsciously pulled it away.
"This will kill you," I whisper. The man took a step towards me and tried to grab it again. I smacked his hand away. "I can't do it!" I yell, shoving the bill back towards his chest. "I can't, I won't! Leave!" I yell again. He shushed me quickly, grabbing the collar of my shirt and pulling me towards him. I shoved the bag back into my pocket.
"Keep your voice down!" He says as loud as he could without being noticeable. "We made a deal, kid," he spits. I shake my head.
"I'm sorry," I mumble. "I-I can't do it. You'll have to find someone else," I say. He drew his fist back, and before I could retaliate, it hit me in my jaw. I fell to the ground as he kicked me a few times. He landed one last punch to my eye and ripped the bag from my pocket, leaving me on the ground without the bag, or the money.
"Last time I make a deal with a dumbass teenager," I hear him mumble as he walked away, leaving me on the ground. I groaned in pain and made no effort to pull myself up, mainly because I was angry at myself for even coming that close to actually making a drug deal. I let myself cry in the middle of this dirty alleyway, and I swear I laid there for hours until someone found me.
"Oh my god, are you okay?" Someone asked in a panic. I looked up to see a lady, middle aged, leaning over me. She helped me up slowly, pulling me to my feet. "Son, are you alright? Can you talk?" I nod. "What happened?" She asks.
"I got in a fight," I lie. "With a guy from my school, it's my fault. I started it," I explain. She nods sadly. "I need to go home."
"Well, let me drive you," she says. "My car is just down the street, it's not an issue." I simply nodded and let her lead me to her car. "My name is Natalie, by the way. Call me Nat."
I gave her the address to my home so she could put it into her GPS. The drive was long, and I was shocked I was even able to walk that far. I hadn't spoken a word the entire drive. I knew Nat was worried, she tucked her long brunette hair behind her ear. She pulled into the drive before giving me a sad look. I nodded once before quickly getting out of the car, walking inside of my small home that resembled a shack. As soon as the door shut, I fell to my knees and let myself cry, sob even. My mom immediately sprinted to my side, crouching next to me.
