Madison's POV

I'm at my audition right now and I've never felt so nervous in my life! I've been watching all these dancers walk in; I've never seen them dance but they all look so good.

"Ok dancers!" Ms Kate says, walking into the room.

Kate's the studio head and was once dance captain on the team. Everyone loves her even though, sometimes, she can be a little bit tight.

"First, we have the solo round and then the choreography round. After that, me and Luke will pick which 20 dancers will go through to the next round."

I can see everyone is getting a little bit uncomfortable because in a few hours half of us will be kicked out of the competition. I'm going to have to dance hard because it is my dream to dance with the team again, but at nationals as we didn't make it last year.

"After that," Luke our choreographer continues "We will move onto the group dances where you'll work with 4 people to create a quartet, while we will announce our new competitive team."

In our dance studio, Art In Motion, we have different troupes. The first troupe is A-troupe; the competitive troupe. Every year we enter in the Absolute Dance Competitions. If we win Regionals, we go to Nationals and if we win that, we go to Internationals and if we win that, we are dance champions of the world, until the following year.

There's B-troupe which isn't nearly as competitive; it's more fun than training to be a dancer. I was on B-troupe two years ago, which was when A-troupe lost Nationals and I did not like it. I would hate to have to go down back to B-troupe.

There's J-troupe which is basically for our junior dances so they compete in smaller local competitions and it is basically about finding yourself as a dancer.

And finally there's Baby Ballet, which is basically for the toddlers. I started off in baby ballet and I have since grown up so much as a dancer.

"So you have 15 minutes to stretch before we begin the solo rounds." Luke says.

I walk up to Olivia, who was also in A-troupe last year, although her identical twin sister, Jessica, was in B-troupe. We start stretching.

"Hey Liv!" I say.

"Hi Madison!"

"All these dancers look really good; it's quite scary!" She says.

"Yeah I know! Not one spot on A-troupe is safe," I say

"Exactly." She replies.

Just as we finish stretching, Ms Kate and Luke walk back in.

"Ok your time is up" She says "First up we have Zach Abbott."

*does his dance*

"Next, can we have Tayla Cox."

She walks up as everyone claps and I mouth at her good luck and she gives me a nervous smile. My only worry is: I'm probably next.

As I watch Tayla, I notice that she really took on board what I said about acro. But it make me realise that I'm going to have to dance my hardest and put my friendship behind, just for today.

She finishes and gets another applaud.

"Madison Dallas next please." Ms Kate says.

I walk into the center of the studio and wait. Originally, I was dancing to Secret Love Song but I change it to Rise instead.

I finish my solo and watch the rest of the solos. Some of them are really good but I think I have a pretty good chance in this.
